Its been there awhile with these people…I wish I was kidding but they believe Mexico and other countries that way are so evil this is reasonable. Their stereotypes just seem to get more and more crazy that they believe…

Many conservatives think that Mexico is a problem the same way they think that Native American tribes self governance is a problem. The Mexican history is that of the native Mexicans winning out over the Spanish and forming their country and many conservatives are still pissed about the Alamo because they think we should have kept going south in conquest.

Yea which is why I wish it was easier to take them down when they threaten violence to send us into a war. Since I know I can’t get things done to show I’m not capable myself for that or a lot of things(the audhd panics and meltdowns are oof with his stressed I stay…). Like the fact they won’t believe they’re in the minority sucks 😕

Also, many undocumented immigrants who would normally be involved in post-storm cleanup and rebuilding are avoiding Florida after Hurricane Idalia because of DeSantis’ policies.

Tell me about it…the right is so xenophobic among other things that they can’t see the bigger picture. They’d rather let these mega corps in our own country rule and ruin things than cooperate with other countries 🙄

I will never understand this shiz

Real patriots want to declare war on Mexico then you’re not a real patriot. We need more patriots in this country to make America great again. And we’ll make them pay for it! Mark my words Mexico will pay for the wall. Some of them are good people too but they will pay for the wall when we win the war. SAD but TRUE.

In a world where things actually make sense, this would immediately disqualify this asshat for the presidency.

Of course, in such a world, all the bullshit the Orange Asshole did while campaigning in 2016 would have disqualified him, as well. Fuck our actual shit world, I want the “makes sense” world.

We’re on the verge of seeing a presidential candidate, during a debate, shove his hand down the back of his pants, pull out a handful of crap, and throw it at his opponent on live television…and still manage to win the election somehow.

Fuck our actual shit world, I want the “makes sense” world.

Those who are losing don’t think a pyric victory is all that bad. As the social war wins move more in one direction, I expect to see more bullshittery happen.

The only thing we can do is fight for what’s right, and never stop doing that. Things will get better again, eventually. Or the dolphins and the cockroaches will look around at the charred landscape and wonder “WTF?”.

Goal post moving for his base. DeSantis “had to” take federal disaster relief money for the damage to his state caused by Hurricane Idiala(?) making him weak in their eyes(or so he believes). So now to appeal to/appease his sycophants he must promise the possibility of pain, poverty and destruction for those less fortunate.

I’m sorry, why the fuck are these people allowed to be in politics? He’s openly advocating for war with our neighbor, get this fuckwad out of politics. Let him go fight a war first-hand if he’s so eager to get his dumbass killed. I feel like a requirement for getting into politics should be some sort of political “killswitch”, as soon as you start talking crazy like this, you’re out.

Nearly all of my friends are Mexican citizens that moved to the States for work or folks that have family in Mexico. Why the fuck does DeSantis think like this? Hell even the conservative Latinos in the border states couldn’t support this nonsense right?

I don’t think the US would have had quite the spectacular 20th century it did, had it not had the very amicable Canada on one side and Mexico on the other. Not having to fight constant border squabbles was a big factor in making sure there was money for expansion, discovery – NASA, for example.

Having friendly neighbors on all land sides is something many counties can only dream of and would give anything to have. Poland? Finland? South Korea? I’m sure there are more. And once the fighting starts, it can take decades – even longer – to come back to even a shaky peace. The Troubles, anyone? The Western Sahara conflict?

It is truly hard to believe, even in this age of glorified ignorance, that anyone could be SO FUCKING STUPID as to seek office in order to destabilize his own country’s borders.

But there it is: Ron DeSantis, the dumbest motherfucker ever to crawl out from under a rock. Congratulations, asshole. You seriously won the prize.

What, are you just leaving out the enormous costs of the Vietnam, Korean and Cold Wars? The Gulf War?

America has hugely benefited from warfare.

Missing the point on purpose there to fit your agenda? OP is CLEARLY talking about nextdoor neighbors. When Vietnam moves continents, you let us know…

Quick edit - I upvoted your comment on JAG at Gitmo and DeSantis being a black hole for ethics, so I"m genuinely wondering why you’re making the point about the Us and Wars.

It’s funky to imagine that a state that was once seen as “purple”, generally, would also elect someone was ragingly insane as DeSandurz.

You can thank gerrymandering and low voter turn out due to gerrymandering for that…

How does gerrymandering play in to DeSantis election? Isn’t it popularity voting that decides Florida’s governor?

Gerrymandering leads to disenfranchisement, which leads to lower voter turnout by the opposition, which then leads to his election. You see a similar thing happen in Texas as well because people think “oh my vote doesn’t matter, why should i vote anyway?”

Tbf he’s done a lot to disenfranchise those he doesn’t agree with or make it harder for them to vote. All bc that side can’t believe they’re not popular anymore…

This is the guy who was the JAG at Gitmo during the torture debacle, right? Just checking.

He is the antithesis of ethics.
