I wonder. Lemmy is be definition much less future proof that r&ebbit. Information posted on Lemmy will not last long, as instances come and go. The price we pay for decentralisation and freedom.

remind me to add that shitstain of a domain to my pihole block list. So many search attempts for a niche problem just to end up with a paywall…

I would like to add: old as old Manjaro forum. There are many issues that seemed to be solved there but there is no way to get to it.

To my defence, I didnt know there are old and new. I dont use arch based distros anymore but searching an error, which could be on any distro, there are different kind of Websites which discuss the error. if I could sort them it would look like this:

      1. mailinglists (good described, but you know, you are fucked)

      2. arch wiki

      3. stack overflow

      4. reddit (solution got deleted)

      5. a clickbait guide (you realise your problem was dumb)

      6. arch forum (you read about people dumb like you, getting virtual killed)

      7. manjaro forum (try reinstall)

I not too long ago ran into a kernel issue that was posted on the day I’ve set up my first arch install. Thus, the #1 result when searching for the bug was the arch forums and the issue was resolved about two weeks later.

Haha it just wouldn’t boot from the flash drive. I think it has something to do with the motherboard drivers because Manjaro has a fancy ROG/Manjaro boot screen but I don’t actually expect anyone to fix it for me. My set up is very music production based and most everything works with Manjaro but even I know they have a reputation. Thanks for the question though.

I was having problems with the newer endeavour ISOs just not booting as well. Installed Ventoy on my flash drive and it works like a dream now. Also now I can have multiple ISOs on the same drive and choose which I want which makes it an amazing tool to just have in a backpack or whatever.
