Have you looked into using pygame? Not sure how much your app is dependent on gtk3 vs. doing something graphical that can be generic.

I believe course is also online to read for free. I bought book to support author, though. Not everyone can do that so it is nice to have online option.

Author also puts codes on r/learnpython so course is effectively free on a monthly basis. Maybe he’ll start posting here, too. Great ideas! You can also set top of script to be:

#!/usr/bin/env python3

That way it will work with environment Python. Runs against venv, as well.
