Thanks for posting this. It was not intuitive to me, and it took me a minute to figure out where to log out of the app, but it worked.

I’m on sciences.social, because I am a social scientist. There’s a number for different sciences that are good for keeping up with your field. I don’t know about other occupations but I assume they’re out there. Also, as with all things federated, the server doesn’t matter too much once you get rolling.

I just use Google podcasts. It’s simple, it works, hail corporate.

I’m using Jerboa. I used to use BaconReader for reddit, and they seem kind of similar to me in that it’s very no-frills, simple ui that gives you access to the content you want.
