Sometimes when I’m browsing by top I forget to check the post and end up reviving a post from a week ago. I want to implement a setting so you are alerted when commenting on an old post. The question is, what do people think is “too old”? 24 hours? 3 days? A week?

For real, it just depends on the topic.

Your comment could be valuable information to someone who comes along later, if you’re providing a solution to a problem.

If you’re giving positive feedback to OP, you’re good for the duration of them being active on the platform.

Current events, after a couple of days you’re likely just talking into the void. Maybe whoever you directly comment to will respond, but probably not even that.

If it’s just a warning then the topic really shouldn’t matter much. I think a general heads up of something over a certain amount of time is fine and they can still post if it’s relevant so I don’t see an issue as long as the set time is long enough that it’s not getting flagged 99% of the time.

It’s going to be configurable as well. It’s mostly just to make sure you are alert. I might just choose 2 days for now and see if I get complaints.
