…All available evidence indicates that the Democrats are becoming a more culture war–focused, economically moderate party — except, that is, for what Democratic politicians actually say and do.

That the Democrats have remained stubbornly focused on progressive economic reform has been apparent for a while now. But in a new paper, “Bridging the Blue Divide: The Democrats’ New Metro Coalition and the Unexpected Prominence of Redistribution,” the Yale political scientist Jacob Hacker and his colleagues quantify that resilient commitment.

There can be no peaceful resolution between conservatives and normal people. Never in history has an infestation of unchecked conservatives been cured by pacifism.

Families, friends, neighbors, co-workers and aquaintances are on such opposing sides (the desire to harm others vs the desire to not be harmed) that finding common ground is simply no longer possible.

The best we can hope for is an uneasy tension for the next couple generations, assuming conservatives are unable to gain real power again. If they do take power again, countless innocent people will be oppressed and murdered by them.

I’m usually the type of person to dismiss this type of talk as sensationalism. Not now. Not anymore. Conservatives are trying to run America like a dictatorship whose purpose exists wholly for their own benefit. They are merciless, they are emotionless, they are heartless. And they will not stop until the wealthy, white, and god-fearing become a permanent ruling class.
