    I’ve noticed that when someone on Lemmy mentions a congressperson by name, more often than not it’s one of the most left-leaning people in congress, and they’re taking time to levy some totally weird batshit criticism at them.

    Elizabeth Warren loves the banks. Bernie Sanders loves Trump. Gretchen Whitmer loves the insurance industry. We all know it. Now you know it, too. You need to not support them. Don’t support them. They’re corrupt. Please don’t vote. It’s very important.

    Generally speaking, that is the message. I have no idea what this particular one is trumped up from, but generally when I’ve looked at them in detail they turn out to be some hyper-exaggerated version of some very minor complaint, and I suspect this one is trumped up from literally nothing at all.

      To be fair, and you’re not wrong, Bernie is mentioned in the headline. So talking about him in the comments makes sense. Doesn’t excuse the mind numbing stupidity of that comment though.
