Maintaining open-source code is a vital but stressful job. Despite that, a recent Tidelift survey found that almost half of code maintainers aren't paid at all.

    Absolutely. I wouldn’t expect anything else either. The day it becomes part labour-of-love and part “work” is the beginning of doom. I wish to save enough to be able to financially contribute to my favourite projects.
