Yup that’s fair. I don’t mean to say she’s above criticism. My point was that a politician able of introspection and able to even accept the concept of their own failure is delightful.

But that’s mainly criticism of all politicians in general than praise of her.

This is really it. They feel strange about it and cannot grok it. It’s bizzarre that it can break even people that I hold in high regard.

For instance Graham Linehan, the brilliant writer of Father Ted, Black Books and The IT Crowd went completely of the rails like his own father Jack when it came to transgender people. There’s people who just cant cope. Even including LGBT+ people. Theres plenty of gay people that hate transgenders with a passion and fail to see that the very same hate was directed at themselves a generation before.

It boggles the mind. But really people feel really icky about the fact that people can choose their gender when they are being plagued by being welded to that gender in most of their lives.

Lots of critical comments here. Can we just please applaud a politician who -I know, in huge retrospect- admits to her being wrong about something.

Would I rather have politicians who make no mistakes at all? Yes. I just dispise the amount of politicians who never ever own up to their mistakes and keep on vaguely blaming everyone but themselves. It was Trump that exarbated that method (though it had been in use much longer, he just went in more blatantly.)

Lets please celebrate boring, conscientious politicians that own up to their mistakes and instead hate on the ones that get off scott free by lying their asses off. That’d be great

I thought that his appeal on the blatant corruption in Romania would make sure he’d be made an example of.

First: she shouldn’t have used that word.

Her words were twisted out of context by about everybody, media and politicians alike. As a left/green mayor she is under heavy fire from our extremist puppet prime minister, who hates her and wants her expelled.

So every thing she says that can be criticized, is. She’s doing a great job in very difficult circumstances and has the balls to own up the mistake she made (which is unfortunately rare for politicians).

So yes she deserves criticism. But she did deserve credits for the way she remained sane and effective during a huge international proxy conflict.
