I would pick them up and just put them inside it. After a day or so of that over and over they started using it but it took them a while to not be scared of it when it moves.

Sounds like it needs a cleaning. Also update the firmware just in case. Customer service can help if you need help figuring out how to clean it or if a motor goes bad or something. They’ve replaced motors and stuff for me a few times for free. When one of the sensors broke or was damaged, it was finicky for me too. Sometimes worked sometimes didn’t. Replacing it fixed it instantly. Though the same happens if a sensor needs to be cleaned.

I have a Litter Robot (that’s the actual brand name) and it’s worth the money. Completely eliminates smell other than right when they do the deed. Incredibly easy and clean to empty, but that’s all besides the point. They ha e the BEST customer service ever. I’ve had parts replaced for free, experts on the phone guide me step by step on how to fix it if it malfunctions, and once they even replaced the entire dome for free (plus shipping). I’ve had this for several years and it’s amazing. Truly.

I’ve had other automatic litter boxes too but none of them have been as durable, clean smelling, or easy to use as this. Plus I get phone notifications when it’s full and it won’t cycle anymore so I can change it.

My cats took a week to get used to it but now they love it. They offer their own litter but you can buy your own as well. There are certain restrictions on litter type though, check that out before you buy litter.

It separates the waste well, and there is hardly any wasted clean litter in the waste bag when I take it out.

And it actually stinks LESS than a regular box because of how it stores the waste and the fact that it seals it away a few minutes after cats go, using a weight sensor to tell when a cat has left the box.

Edit: reading this sounds like an advertisement, but I swear I’m just a dude who loves my litter box a whole lot.

I’ll be honest I didn’t even know you could log in to YouTube with it. I assumed most people would be using it to actively not participate. By using it you’re already taking ad revenue away and skipping sponsored segments.

+1 for FreeTube. It’s so customizable. Besides the ad blocking and sponsor blocking by default, there are SO MANY features and interface improvements. Never going back.

To add to that, a lot of it was emulating and poking fun at stock market trading, in this case the meme formats being a stock, and creating memes being “investing”. For example, you could have a stereotype of some crazed investor yelling “BUY BUY BUY” as a meme format was becoming popular. It was silly fun and let people discuss meme trends in a novel way.

I have my plex accessible from outside, but only to plex users I add. It’s not like anyone can just get my IP and watch my content.

I have my data backed up locally on an HDD, though I’m planning on building a server machine to hold more data with parity (not just for backups). Important data I have backed up in Google drive and Proton drive, both encrypted before upload. It isn’t that big, I don’t back up media or anything in the cloud. Oh and I have some stuff in mega, but I stopped adding to that years ago. I should probably delete that account, thanks for the reminder!

I’ll look into barrier, thanks. I work in the gaming industry (from home, on my own pc) and so I am constantly running games and doing non-gaming tasks on and off so dual booting is not really an option for me. I often need to do normal tasks while games are running too. Which is why I wanted that 2 pc setup I mentioned above.

However I think I might dual boot just to try Linux out with gaming for now (I have a spare ssd I can use to keep it simple) since I see a lot of people saying it’s pretty good now. Then if it works out I can just transition to only Linux.

Real question. Is gaming (not game dev) significantly better than it was 5 years ago on Linux? I really want to switch, but I also really don’t want to give up everything “just working” and doing it smoothly when gaming on windows.

I’ve even considered having 2 PC’s for my 4 monitors, and having the middle monitor run windows and the other 3 on a Linux box. I used to use a program that could simulate my mouse moving from one pc to an entirely different one even across windows and Linux, and also share the clipboard. I could try that again.

But if the gaming experience is sufficient and convenient on Linux I might switch entirely.

Again, we’re not just talking about email. Things like email aliases and other features are what people mainly stick with Proton for. Nobody knows my real email. They all get an instantly generated alias that I can revoke at any time. Plus if I get spam, I will know who leaked my email. Most people do not actually send many personal emails. It’s a secure platform with many benefits.

It’s the other things that come with it that make the price worth it. Like the VPN, password manager, easy built in email aliases (key word easy built in), and drive storage. I paid for several of those solutions separately until combining them into a cheaper and more secure platform.
