Facebook and twitter are not the same as signal. The signal protocol is a free open source project, that WhatsApp, Signal, and many other use. It secures the data so that whatever servers they are stored on, the company storing it does not know what the texts say. Facebook and Twitter are all about getting as much data as possible. Even though WhatsApp uses the signal protocol, they still collect all metadata with the texts (which is really what they want anyway). Moving to open source project is absolutely the long term goal to get out of this shit hole.

Signal is open source. They absolutely do always comply with US warrants. They have never provided any information to US law enforcement, because they can’t access it. They literally have no way of accessing the information contained inside the texts. The most they could provide is metadata, but they currently aren’t collecting that. Retarded was, and still is, used as an insult for those who are severally developmentally disabled. Those who are literally unable to defend themselves. The people most impacted by this have no ability to take the power back for themselves. Amazon is a commonly used affiliate program. For example, someone might link to the tools they use and like. I watched a carpenter who linked to the tools he used, and it was also an affiliate program. He wasn’t paid by anyone to link them like a sponsorship, he was just sharing in his experience what tools he likes best. If I trust his judgement in tools, and want to buy the same ones, assuming camelcamelcamel shows it a good price and checking around doesn’t find it cheaper, why wouldn’t I want them to get a cut of that purchase?

As far as money goes, (according to the Forbes top list) Elon musk is by far the wealthiest individual in the states. Musk is at $244B and the next up is Bezos at $197B. There is a $47 billion gap between #1 and #2 in that list. And one of them is using their money for political gain much more than the others. The rat literally bought an entire social media platform to spew his own personal propaganda. The same rat who was on stage with Trump, and guess what, is now one of his top advisors. The ultra wealthy have invested insane amounts into political campaigns, but Musk is on another level.
