Taxi to holding position is standard ICAO phraseology, they should have been off the runway at C5. Line up and wait would have them on the runway.
US uses different phraseology.
They also insisted for years that a baby formula factory was a chemical weapons plant.
Knew it pretty much had to be this or the controller forgetting they had cleared a jet onto the runway (Los Angeles runway disaster). Less likely the incoming jet landing on the wrong one.
Controller error would maybe be easier to determine a full root cause, very sad for everyone on the coast guard aircraft though.
That is fascinating! And different than I’ve heard described elsewhere by either the “non-visual” or “non-verbal” thinkers. I think I am pretty generic, when I think of a stapler I literally see a red swingline stapler floating in a void like in a 3d modeling program (that stapler specifically due to the movie Office Space, and therefore I also own one).
That’s a good test if your federation is working, but if federation isn’t working your edit won’t propagate either.
The potential future authoritarian government has been my primary concern when it comes to data collection and profiling by corporations like Google and Meta for years. The governments don’t even have to build their information gathering networks, although they still will, but so much of the surveillance has been done for them, goes back years (literally an entire lifetime for many people now), and is just a request away. I can’t judge how the climate will be in two years, let alone a decade or two from now, but that information isn’t going anywhere.
A surprising number of restaurants ask for the “all the time” permission and hide it with “so we know when you’re almost here”.
Out of curiosity do you visualize in your mind? Like if I say a stapler can you conjure one?
The people with both Aphantasia and Anauralia fascinate me.
I am pretty sure it does. From what I’ve heard people that essentially “read out loud” inside their head tend to have a have a slower reading pace. I don’t think Anauralia is necessary to not do that, either.
Most recent Stable release was December 13, fixing a CVE. Someone is working on it (Red Hat still pays a few to do so, at the very least).
They’re a legitimately shitty place even without the facial recognition. Long waits on the phone, only to have them hang up. Long waits in the store. Poor communication about any issues (they’ll tell you after you wait in line). Poor time estimates when things will be ready. Look at reviews for your local one and they’ll likely have similar issues. This isn’t even new, been the case for years.
Interestingly, lemmy and Kbin votes were originally incompatible. Lemmy saw nothing from Kbin (because Kbin upvotes were boosts), Kbin saw Lemmy upvotes as favorites.
There have been. Creating another one creates another one. Not that someone shouldn’t, but it will always be one among many.
It looks like you can email them directly: https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=270563
Still possible to break your bootloader.
fwupd can install from exe using the Dell script in https://github.com/fwupd/fwupd/tree/main/contrib/firmware_packager
However that model is supported natively too: https://fwupd.org/lvfs/devices/com.dell.uefi3b49e316.firmware
IE: install gnome-firmware from flatpak or native package manager and it can do the whole thing, no need to download some exe.
The fediverse means all of them. Mastodon users post to Lemmy and Kbin. We’ll see threads here.
Most of those communities preemptively blocked threads months ago.
This is straight out of the book Little Brother by Cory Doctorow. Love the idea.
