His supposed comments use fairly sophisticated grammar, much beyond what he’s demonstrated before. Also, the tweets are well time towards people who might be feeling resentful and alone right now. People who might be spending extra time online the last two nights because they don’t have anything else to do.

While text based messages on usenet may be dieing, the file sharing is still quite popular. My radar and sonar still pick up plenty of signals.
The author of that article seems completely out of touch with the requirements of a modern office. Also, that is in no way related to a note taking app.
I do agree with the sentiment that low tech can be good. While I find note taking apps helpful, I also like a notebook and pen (even lower tech than a typewriter).
They offer additional features. One Note ties into the MS eco-system in an okish way. Obsidian is basically text (actually md) in a folder/folders but supports plug-ins that can do a lot. Notion is backed by databases. Others run in the terminal and can support plug-ins. Evernote was one of the first to offer additional features and offered syncing and connections to other apps (seems a lot of that has been restricted in the last 15 years).

When we, Americans, vote for president we vote for an individual by their name on the ballot. Technically, we’re voting for electors who have been chosen by our candidate. Those electors get to vote for the actual presidency and can technically change their vote (relative to the popular vote), but in many places they would be penalized for doing so. To my knowledge there have been few, possibly no, legal cases which have tested these laws or systems. So in practicality it doesn’t matter.
Not a lawyer, but first sale doctrine seems to apply to copyrights, not goods. Is there another version?

I get your point, but the consumer version may not need to be as complex as an electron microscope. Additionally, there will be much more demand for these than electron microscopes. I’m speculating here, but both of these factors together could reduce the price significantly.
I’m sure pharmacy has some crazy value density, but it’s hards to put accurate values on their products because of insurance.
The boxes of wafers I was talking about is roughly 1.5 ft cubed. The fabs will have hundreds of these boxes moving around by robots at any one time.
Depending on price, consumers may be able to afford multiples. They could in theory use them until no space remains. This would be be fine for any data storage that people want, but obvious wouldn’t be good as your c drive.
It is possible to make glass and ceramics that are resistant to shattering from fair hard impacts. I don’t know if that can be employed here, but there are other ways to deal with the problem.
Additionally, if 100,000 TB is something that people can carry by hand, then it is also possible to back up those drives relatively easily (relative to that technology).
Lastly, current silicon fabs have boxes of wafers that at the final stages can exceed $1M in the retail value. They have robots that handle those. If the 100,000 TB is worth something close to that, then a human will not be carrying it.

The icky thing about the relief checks is that Trump was taking credit for something he didn’t do. Even kindergarteners don’t like that.
This was something Biden accomplished by directing the efforts of the executive branch. This was a campaign promise, and a long time career goal of his. He’s a politician, he’s allowed to explain how he used the lawful actions of the government to benefit the public. In fact, that’s what politicians in the executive branch are supposed to do, it’s their job.
I think some phone manufacturers do offer a files app, I don’t know which ones have smb capabilities though. Regardless, it is an app, not a part of the OS. Also sounds like that’s how Apple implements it too, except they probably don’t let you use a different app.
I think this is a function that should be delegated to an app, so that users can choose from a variety of options. Having it built in would restrict that choice. Kind of like keyboards.
The original point wasnt that they should magically be granted citizen ship for slipping through the cracks, but rather but rather that there should be a legal process or criteria for granting citizen ship in these situations. Maybe some basic criteria could be living, working (if able), and paying taxes for 10 years and no felonies. I’m sure there are reasons to grant exceptions and there probably need to be some additional limitations, but that could be the basic idea.
I used to use chrome’s tab groups, they were definitely helpful. Until I wanted to organize things. Tab Groups lacks a lot of the features of the extensions I’m suggesting. I spent lots of time looking for feature rich options in Chrome before ultimately switching to Firefox because it was simply better.
Chrome’s session/history manager also isn’t great, so if I had multiple windows open I had to be careful about how I closed them, otherwise I could easily lose a lot of my tabs. This also wasn’t possible with forced shutdowns.
Well on your personal Firefox try Simple Tab Groups and Tree Style Tabs.
I can’t use chrome because it doesn’t have these extensions.
