  • If you, the civilian, donates to a legitimate cause, the billion dollar company won’t be able to claim that donation on their tax deductions.

If they donate, it’s a zero sum game. Maybe 5 mins in the spotlight for alturism.

But if you give them the money to donate on your behalf? They don’t spend a cent and are able to get tax deductions for “philanthropy”. It’s the best possible outcome (for the company).

Lmao, that’s a testament to communist Cuba’s success. No other form of government could withstand a US embargo for a year and not collapse. Cuba has withstood for DECADES and has surpassed the US in life expectancy. The buildings are kinda shabby, but homelessness, infant mortality, illiteracy are all LOWER than the US, the richest country in the history of the world.

  • If you carjack someone else, commit actual grand theft auto, does that mean the workers in the car factory that produced the car get their pay retroactively revoked?

That’s actual theft, you stole it from the owner, and even then it doesn’t affect the factory workers’ salary at all.

If I get a copy of Starfield from a friend after they’re done playing it, does that count as stealing the devs’ salary?

Redefining theft from “taking a physical object that isn’t yours” to “right click copy, right click paste” has got to be one of the best psyops of all time.

I was never going to give Todd Howard the money for this regardless, after FO76. He would have received $0 for this game regardless of if I downloaded it or not.

This is so fucking stupid. If you steal a physical item, say, a block of cheese, it is no longer in the possession of the shop, and can’t be sold to someone else. The cheesemonger will have to make another block to sell.

If you copy and paste a bunch of 1’s and 0’s, the original is still there. How was that theft? Does the original still exist?

Is watching a movie at a drive in from outside the lot with a pair of binoculars theft? If you can hear a copyrighted song from your neighbours yard, is that theft? Taping a movie when it airs on TV with a VHS, is that theft?

  • Right, but if you made a post about how Putin is a great leader or Republicans have better policies and child labour, homophobia and lower taxes on the rich are good on Hexbear you’re going to get shat on in the comments if not outright banned.

Criticizing NATO is more pressing because online discourse is extremely pro-NATO. Reddit, for example, loves NATO expansion and loved when Finland joined. None of the disdain for NATO is praise for Putin being a corrupt nationalist.

Also anything involving Hunter Biden is funny. He’s just an obscenely offbeat person. While the Trump children (except Tiffany and for now Barron) are just slimy sycophants trying to gain daddy’s approval while swindling money out of MAGA morons, Hunter is doing cocaine and sleeping with prostitutes. Its never really in our discourse for anti-Biden posts to criticize Hunter, he’s become a micro celebrity in his own right. If anything we literally like Hunter better than Joe

  • Posting about Trump or Putin being bad would be akin to making posts about ISIS being bad: it goes without saying.

Like 99% of people on this platform already agrees with you, it’s really not a contentious issue. There’s no significant MAGA or Russian nationalist instance federated. None of their supporters would see it, it would be a completely moot point.
