Now that you call it out, I agree! Bale gets a lot of praise for his ability to morph his body for different roles, but is otherwise only alright as an actor. But he happens to be in many great movies with other iconic figures which really elevates his cachet.

Affleck is pretty good. I also really liked Pattenson’s emo sad-Bruce version quite a bit more than I expected to. For me, nothing will ever be as nostalgic and iconic as the Tim/Conroy animated portrayal.

  • Once installed, a new team of people would have to maintain it. Mechanics with biotech engineering degrees. Cleaning technicians with advanced degrees in medicine, robotics, and hygiene. Eventually an aftermarket for used jizzbots would form, resulting in cum-puter resellers and replacement part manufacturers. Unlicensed spunkdroid hotrodders overclocking their barely legal Frankenstein fuck factories for orgasms previously inconceivable to the human mind. Soon we’ll all be slaves to the perpetual pussy motion machine, our minds melting into one… unnnnnngggggg… wow, that was a lot to type one-handed, where am I, what’s happening? (jk but this stupid gag really got away from me!)

  • I think he was saying that if the condom pops the fun stops. Presumably because then you’re worried about STDs, pregnancy, and so on.

But yes, it is funny that the American sex stereotype of men is that that they finish once, quickly, and are then done. Being in more sex positive spaces, the attitude is closer to “orgasms are nice but not the whole point.”

What people should be worried about is Meta (or anyone) trying to extend the AP protocol with proprietary stuff or trying to create fake regulations around their own “standards.”

You see this today with Gmail, where even though you can host your own email server, most major services (like gmail) will autoblock you as a spammer. Even though email is an open federated protocol, it’s become captured both by big business and failures in the protocol (to prevent spam and abuse).

AP and the fediverse are maybe more resilient than that. And existing fediverse servers seem to be somewhat diverse and figuring out ways to pay for hosting. That will be the biggest danger is that Threads becomes a default choice due to: low/no cost to join, good uptime, and lots of people you know.

But I think the rest of the fediverse will be around for a long time yet, it’s only really just started to take off!

  • I’m guessing you’ve never seen a person hit by a car before. They don’t deflect away like video game characters. A person hit roughly in the middle of their body will be “folded” over the car, smashing their head into the body of it. Then they’re either flung away, roll over the top, or get pulled under, depends on what the driver does, how hard the hit was, and how big the vehicle is.

In a car with a molded plastic body, the head bounces back off and the plastic is dented. With a plate of solid steel, the person’s head is splattered like a melon all of the “bulletproof” windows. Then the sharp edge slices them in half. Sounds very metal until it starts happening to children several times a week.
