  • Always be interviewing. That way, you always have the next job lined up.

I’ve walked out of a couple of jobs because a) fuck those guys, and b) I already had recruiters targeting me, and c) I had enough of an emergency fund to last me through the onboarding process at the new place. Had my next job within a month.

If you’re hourly, then your old job doesn’t have to pay you. They can just not schedule you. You gain very little by giving notice, especially if you have no interest in keeping relations with them.

My current job I’ll give 2 MONTHS notice if they want, they’re great and I’ll do what I can to make the transition smooth because they’ve been good to me.

  • Bro those first 2 paragraphs were just red flag after red flag

I moved back to my hometown after college because there was a job that offered to get my foot in the door of the game industry. I was pretty despite and I just graduated with a second diploma in that industry and had a lot of student loans.

The job was to a an in-game service rep for Trions Rift mmo. I was working via a third party but the assured me that if I did well they’d become the tier 2 support center and get some dev work.
