Yes. I, my wife, and several friends have had intermittent problems with long-delays in message delivery. In some of those cases, neither of the phones involved moved, which rules out most of the common explanations. I’ve considered disabling RCS entirely, but a recent move to Signal has made this less of an issue.

“Religion” is too broad a term. Conservatives like to call what they practice Christianity, although it would have appalled Christ. They also like to represent themselves as the mainstream of Christianity, but they are very much in the minority. They just get on the news more often.

Unions are a very good answer to this. They aren’t a complete solution, but they are a big step in the right direction. And they’re something almost everyone can do.

I had the same problem. I forced stop, cleared cache, cleared storage, and uninstalled. Then I installed it again from scratch. That fixed the problem for me, but there may have been other factors.

I wasn’t impressed with the Kobo, although it does the job. I’m not familiar with the Boox. I will have to look that one up.

I’m glad to see some other options. I’m not a fan of Amazon, but the only other practical option has been tablets, which are generally a lot more expensive and less well-suited to the purpose. This looks like a good design.

I just recently discovered the Obtainium app, which solves this probably neatly. It can monitor and update apps directly from GitHub as well as from many other sources. I switched my Jerboa updates from Google Play to Obtainium, set it to include pre-release candidates, and it updated my Jerboa to 0.0.54.

Income inequality has made traditional measures of the economy meaningless for the majority of us. Even the overall measures of price increases and inflation no longer apply across the board because categories that are less important can cancel out areas that are critical, such as housing and food costs.

Every years or so I try out a bunch of alternate keyboards. Then I go back to using Gboard. {sigh}

I’ve been using swipe typing for years and I just can’t get by without it. None of the privacy oriented keyboards do it well enough to really be usable yet.

It would be nice if there were separate Tech Industry and Technology News communities.
