Seems to be pretty effective at detecting that there’s artillery within range.
Even to the point of being able to detect how precise it can hit.

Easy, leak there’s Hunter Biden nudes some location far away from the Capitol and the Bizarro Barbies and some of the MAGA men will run like their lives depend on it to go watch it.
Actually, DIY lithography is a thing and in the uprise.
The use case I see is screens mounted on something that moves.
It’s easy with accelerometers to know the orientation, so you can display things on something that in its whole or has parts that move in an additive way.
Imagine an movie screening with the screen mounted on a float in the ocean.
The float moves with the waves. You can stabilize the image of the movie to be still while the screen itself tilts.
Something like this, but then with a direct screen instead of a projected one.
Another use case would be applying this to smartwatches or other displays like that.
You could make the output of the screen always be perfectly aligned with your line of sight rather than have it tilted at an angle parallel with your arm.
My downstairs neighbor seems to be wearing some of those glass breaking pens you can buy for emergencies, as heels.
Our apartment is incredibly well sound proofed, you can’t hear any of the city noise and usually can’t even hear the elevator bell on our floor, even though it’s obnoxiously loud. You also can’t hear voices, radio or TV from downstairs.
But yet my downstairs neighbor, who apparently ALWAYS wears heels and can’t sit down for longer than 5 minutes, manages to make it sound like someone is constantly hammering a nail into solid concrete, with every step she makes.
The tack tack tack tack noise coming from down there, you can figure out where she is in her place, simply by where the sound goes and comes from. From that I know that while most of the layout of her apartment seems the same, two doors are in places where we have walls.
A while back I realized my phone has 256GB of internal storage and since I don’t take pictures or put anything else on it, I was running around with 256GB of free storage wherever I went.
And that’s pretty much when it clicked for me that I was paying Spotify for access to music I already have from the pre-spotify days for a convenience that no longer is valid.
I dove into my box of CD’s and DVDs and put the 30 something gigs of music I collected since the mid 90’s on my phone and haven’t used spotify since.
EDIT: and, yeah, I’ve re-instanced my music, movie and series downloaders and went back to sailing the high seas.
I switched to Netflix/Spotify, because of the convenience and timing of release they provided, they were also more reliable in terms of quality (“free” versions labeled ass 1080p often aren’t actually 1080p, etc).
But the sheer cost of Spotify, Paramount+, Disney+, Netflix, etc, etc, etc to listen to and watch what I want, has made the convenience/cost calculation move from being acceptable to being even more than what it used to be buying CD’s and DVD’s.
On top of that the audio and video quality have deteriorated over the years, availability has become spotty, at best (like certain services removing movies and shows, even some removing movies and shows you paid extra for), we’re also dealing with these services pushing ads on top of us already paying subscriptions and fragmenting their market to the extent everything has become entirely unaffordable.
I used to buy maybe 2-3 CD’s in a year and a boxset of a show and a movie once a year.
Now simply subscribing to every service that has something I want for just 1 month costs more than what I spent per year previously.
Gabe Newels words are still right on the money.
Piracy is a service problem and the service provided these days makes Piracy the better option, again.
There’s microphones and even cameras in many of these TVs.
Yeah, that’s why I’ve come to just pay the premium for professional displays instead of consumer TVs.
Before doing anything, if your screen allows it, swap DP to HDMI or HDMI to DP as output, that may fix this to the point of being able to actually boot and further fix the issue.
I’ve had this before with drivers where suddenly it would fail on either port but would still run on one of the others.
Teslas are known as the Panel Gap kings of the automotive industry, even in countries that still have clear memories of British Leyland where you were never even sure the doors on your car were actually meant for the model you bought.
Yeah, doesn’t take much to warp a young mind with pseudoscience and pseudo philosophical blathering.
Because the right has coopted the religious right, this is just a merger of oldschool professional religious apologists tactics into political discourse and it took scores of Atheists making videos, doing talks and going into debates to show these people for the lying pieces of shit they are.
But because they moved into fronting as purely political, rather than religious, the Atheists stay away, because it’s not their fight.
Because it’s not 53vs47, but 53vs24.
Biden has double the support with youth Trump has.
But one has to wonder where the other % are, not speaking their mind because they have someone with them that requires them to support the other guy or just don’t want to go on the record with anything regardless. (and this goes both ways, teens not dare to say they would vote Bidden because the people with them are MAGAts or people that would vote Trump, but are scared to say out loud because they know full well their peers don’t agree).
The “imagine what they would do” part is being corrupt traitors that would take money from just about anyone and buy stupid shit like yachts.
Because American policy makers and most of the public don’t know what being at war is.
They send people to war across the world. They haven’t experienced war in 150 years.
So for them, especially a high level politician can easily chill on his yacht one day while voting to send a bunch of soldiers to their death the next day.
They have no concept of what it means to be like Zelensky, being the primary target for assassination, being in the thick of it in a nation undergoing a full scale war.
And since a good chunk of politics, especially the far right, is stuffed to the brim with people incapable of empathy, they can only imagine what they’d do and not what someone like Zelensky would do.
One day it’s an article saying young voters are abandonning Biden, next day it’s one saying they overwhelmingly support him.
If you see some footage of a yellow object with a gleaming tip flying towards an asteroid, ya’ll know full well who he is.
This whole “don’t hold republicans accountable because they’ll weaponize the courts” is such a meh argument.
They already weaponize the courts.
But so far, without any evidence of wrongdoing against Democrats they try to do this against, they have had zero success.
While there is actual assloads of evidence against people like Trump (and others).
It’ll spend some time and resources from democrats, but it’ll also put some of the worst republicans in jail.
There is not a single indicator that they would ever even consider to “assimilate” anyone.
Every single time they created settlements, it was to kick out or eradicate Palestinians.
Besides that, mrna tech started to be developed in the 1970’s with the first labrat trials in the late 80’s or early 90’s.
Clinical trials on humans, to test their safety and effectiveness in combating various diseases and viruses have been ongoing for the past decade.
And as you said, the first several widely used vaccines based on mrna tech have been deployed to literally billions of people.
This is an incredibly gigantic sample size for data and there have been very few issues for the past 3 years.
And what bernieecclestoned brings up about herd immunity simply means the people they are talking to are, like most antivaxxers, blithering idiots that know some catch phrases and not a single meaning behind them.
You only obtain herd immunity with minimal casualties through hardening the herd with vaccines and then hope the immune systems of the herd adjust to further combat the disease. If data doesn’t show that new variants are easily countered by the immune systems of the herd, you know you need to develop more vaccines.
If you try to obtain herd immunity by letting a brand new disease like COVID run its course, you will probably obtain it eventually, but instead of 7 million dead worldwide (and lord knows how many with long covid or other long term disabilities due to the disease), you’ll have 70 million or more.
Herd immunity doesn’t mean you should just let shit hit the fan and see who’s left standing. If you miscalculate the severity of the disease, you can have another situation like with the plague where it killed over 25 million out of the 180 million people on earth.
In todays numbers that would mean like 1.1 billion people die. Probably far more since we’re extremely more connected than people were in 400AD.
And you’d think that the better general healthcare and hygiene these days would lessen it, but the sheer increase in how we’re connected would easily wipe that advantage off the board.
