I’m so glad I could positively impact someone! I listen to audio books like a fiend, while cleaning, during laundry, during running and biking. But The Expanse books were the only books I’d be so hooked I’d listen to them while eating dinner instead of watching a show.

Yeah, I don’t you’d like the rest of the series then. I was completely hooked, but I listened to the audio books first and ended up not liking the show as much as the books. I think it’s more about what you experienced first. My big issue with the show is, they changed a bunch of characters, took some characters and combined them into one. A good example is Bobby wasn’t amazonian in stature, and I missed some of the technical details like needing crash couches in order to account for changing directions.

I highly recommend the book series! There are enough differences from the show to keep it fresh, AND the story in the books goes much further then the show got to.

I agree, I found it hard to deal with too. But I really got comfortable with their style when John Oliver’s show was paused due to the strike. Some More News really presents some wonderfully researched and presented information, they’re style can be a big strong but it’s just their shtick to stand out, but still give good content.

Since I got used to it, I’ve been watching every new video and I enjoy it. But man, I too wish they’d tone it down a bit.

I just hope that since Trump lost in 2020, that his chances to winning this time are even lower. I don’t like Biden a ton either, but he’s leaps and bounds better then Trump in every regard. It isn’t like Trump has done anything since 2020 to win back any of those “on the fence” voters. I’d just prefer if Trump wasn’t even an option though, to be on the safe side.

I can tell that type of drivel is bullshit, but their vast viewership isn’t making that distinction. It’s leading to a huge group of America who don’t live in reality, and it’s proving to be dangerous physically and politically. So I still think if something is a verifiable lie, it should be called as such and the spreader of that lie should face ramifications.

I said verifiable fact. Not opinions. Example: During the pandemic, here in America, the vaccine was available in May of 2021, and around the end of summer, everyone who was going to get it had gotten it. Biden’s administration was trying to think how they could help get more fence sitters to get the vaccine. So they thought maybe a door to door education campaign would help, just people going door to door with information and hand out packets of information to help educate people on what a mRNA vaccine was, and why it wasn’t something to worry about.

Well, Fox News aired straight up lies. On air, Fox News talking heads said that the door to door campaign was going to have people show up at your house WITH the vaccine and demand you get the shot right then and there. And what would be next? They could come to your door and take your guns, they could take your BIBLE. I shit you not, that’s fear mongering aimed at one thing, to scare their viewership and the republican base. None of that fear mongering had any basis in reality, it was verifiably FALSE.

So that’s what I’m talking about, spread lies and misinformation that can be proved to be false should be illegal for the same reasons why it’s illegal to yell “FIRE” in a crowded theater when there isn’t a fire.

Good, there is nothing wrong with having rules against spreading misinformation if that information can be objectively be verified as false. This weird idea we have to be polite and treat people spreading misinformation with respect is silly. Opinions are opinions, but spreading verifiable lies shouldn’t be allowed.

The only thing I haven’t found a good replacement for was how G Drive also handles Office style documents. I make use of that a lot, especially from my phone. But I agree, Proton Mail hasn’t been painful one bit.
