Even if you have a heat pump, the PCs efficiency does not change compared to a space heater. The heat pump existing does not change this.
Cooking qs a Hobby is not throwing together a Quick meal, but actually making an effort to cook. I.e. trying new things, cooking homemade pizza or even a roast.
But you annoy users with unreliability and difficulty to repair and time to implement. UX is important. You can’t have home improvement work sites lingering.
Tl;dr: any interest is interesting and attractive. In particular if it can be done without annoying your partner and shows your ability to think independently. If it produces something useful that’s cool, too.

That wink was somewhat intended ;) The graphs are the intended primary meaning, but Linux usability has actually been complicated in the past.
I.e. I was unable to get a crappy 300$ Laptop running with Linux as a student (ca. 2016) to be used as a youtube/Netflix machine. But that is way in the past. It worked barely when using Windows and I had the hope to prolong its life with Linux. There were some complicated graphic driver issues.
