What can we do?idk have our president tell their leader that they’re dumb and not to do it. Basically exactly what occurred. Less people dying is good.

I think the graph is too get an idea of potential threatened politicians. The gop members closer to the middle, while also higher up, are the biggest risk because D’s are more easily about to take those seats, and restricting snap maybe enough to push voters to vote blue.
In regards to impeachment, there’s precedent that impeachment for BS reasons doesn’t resonate well with voters. Clinton was impeached for BS reasons (the process started with investigating his finances, before Monica Lewinski even worked in the white House). The following election, Democrats won a decent number of seats in congress despite Republicans expecting a Blue blood bath because of impeachment. Same with Trump, he was impeached twice (both of which Republicans said was BS), yet independents still voted for and continue to vote for Democrat candidates. I feel even Republicans know this, which is why McCarthy and McConnel, as well as other Republicans, feel this is a bad idea.
Any evidence would be appreciated, otherwise it just feels like speculation or Russian propaganda(“DNC screwed Bernie, vote 3rd party or vote Trump to show DNC you disapprove of their actions”)
So anyways Striker as I was saying before we were interrupted, we really need people to be inclusive here in lemmy to encourage participation.
Big Bernie fan. I agree with you, Bernie couldn’t draw enough people sadly.
Yeah HSR is cutting edge and unproven technology that hasn’t been successfully implemented in Europe, Japan and China.
Lol yeah screw the us government helping it’s citizens. Also, there has been funding for other cities to expand their public transportation.
Pretty good articles. Lots of information and lots to read. Shame there’s a paywall, but disabling JS should help with that.
The bombing of innocent civilians in Gaza in order to destroy Hamas is the genocide being referred too. For Israel, it seems killing innocent civilians is a bonus. Israel’s allies, including the US, are starting to get irritated with the fact that Israel is basically completely disregard for civilian life in Gaza. Israel’s response is basically, we need to kill off Hamas because they want genocide of Israel (not certain of the specifics of Hamas’ goals, but I would definitely that they are generally terrorist group that has control of Gaza, and do want to see Israel fall) so killing civilians is collateral damage. The issue though is that Israel has helped prop up Hamas to keep as an enemy that they think they can control, and use the existence of that enemy as a reason to continue to push out Palestinians from their land. This continued harassment of Palestinians pushes them to join Hamas, and drives Hamas’ actions. This is also partly why Israelis are angry at Netanyahu(?) and his administration, he claimed the power is was scooping up domestically, and using it to exert control on Palestinian land, would keep Israel safe. Instead, they’ve had the biggest attack ever with many Israelis dead.
Yeah, maybe left kernal development (like Linus indicated he may have done to various people), maybe that person was traumatized. But alas, there’s no other way to let a human being know they made a mistake without making exaggerated personal attacks.
Why would the DNC, or any fucking party, switch out the incumbent? that’s like having the option for home field advantage and not choosing it. There’s not been a lot of presidents that have lost their reelection campaign (which of course happened to Trump). So now we are going to rehash the same fight that Trump lost, with himself using the exact same plan, but now under several felony investigations ranging from state and federal. Why give Trump any advantage at all by running a new candidate? So Republicans can say that “Biden was actually moderate but new mythical Democrate candidate is way worse will take away your guns, and destroy the country as you know it!” That’s how Trump won against Clinton, using the fear that she’s a more dangerous president than Trump. If you vote 3rd party, best case scenario you have no affect on the election. Worst case is your vote, and others who may have voted for Biden, effectively gave votes to Trump by voting 3rd party. The US voting system punishes you for voting 3rd party, that won’t change until our voting system is updated (which I would like)
Results aren’t instant and we have moved left. Since 2016, Republicans have lost every single election. 2018, Dems gain the house removing the complete control R’s had in the house, senate and Executive. 2020, Trump loses his reelection (first time in like 20+ years that happens) D’s hold the house and gain a slime majority in the Senate. 2022, with a D president history shows D’s should lose seats in congress. D’s lose the house narrowly and gain seats in the senate, I think this the first time in 10ish years this happened. When FDR was president, it was fine to be racist again minorities, be prejudiced against the LGBTQ+ community (as well as let them die of AIDS), and weed was bad. Those things have changed, and include the fact that every abortion restriction law has been denied by the voters of every state that has tried, including Kentucky. The issue with the lack of a sharp turn left is that US politics doesn’t work that way. Actual movement is based on the mid point between both parties, and right now Republicans have been trying to move further and further right. In general shifts in politics are slow for the US, which is good for preventing bad things but not great for quickly encouraging the good. If R’s continue to screw up as they have, they will have to reevaluate their platform to stay relevant. Being homophobic, sexist and an ally of Nazis and white supremacists isn’t a winning ticket for a majority of voters.
Yeah I agree this is a bit misleading. I’m leaning more towards it’s the publisher that is problematic (meditate).
Like which things in particular? Biden has done things, and having an image with BS undermines his actual accomplishments.
They all ran before the 2020 election, people mainly liked Biden. (I voted Bernie). The time to get a better candidate than Biden was then, changing things up would be a huge risk for Democrats and would help Trump (R’s can’t easily say Biden is insane and take their away their rights, unlike a new candidate which they can say is the bogeyman). This is the exact same reason Trump ran basically unopposed for his 2nd term, its generally the best idea in the US’s system vs picking another candidate. If you care about how “bad” Biden is, then vote in the next general and help out the best candidate.
I just use like 2 squares of toilet paper first to mostly dry myself, then like 3-4 to make sure I’m completely wiped. I’m not hairless down there either and that usually works for me.
The other “half” are who I care about. They’re getting killed by Israel non descriminately, while, Hamas( a group Palestinians don’t care for, who has taken control of Gaza by force)ignores their needs.
I agree. For some people, I think pornography and prostitution are their preferred jobs.in your scenario, they would be more empowered to speak up for themselves. Right now, with food and shelter being a concern, people may not always feel comfortable turning jobs down.
