On the one hand, this is why security-through-obscurity is no good. Hell, even without a source leak, people figure out how to hack games.
On the other, much as I would vastly prefer if every online game was server authenticated so the client didn’t need anticheat, I understand that basically every game is a barely held together yarn ball and checking logic server-side would slow things down to an unmanageable level.
It sucks.

I dunno what you guys are doing that makes your nextcloud die without touching it. Mine runs happily until I decide to update it, and that usually goes fine, too. I don’t use docker for it, tho.
You might want to consider looking into Home Assistant. It can’t do the voice assistant part (yet?) but if you get the right smart devices to go with it, you can be reasonably safe from the usual smart home product stopping working because the maker got bored BS.
Ah, I can see how this could happen. Each time you log on you get a different VM and EA didn’t think about that before tossing the game up on geforce now (assuming that’s how it works; never used the service. If you installed the game yourself then I guess it sucks that’s how their DRM works).

If like me you don’t print much but still need a printer occasionally, get a laser printer (possibly a scanner multifunction, since it can be handy to scan your receipts), and just buy your cartridges normally. Laser toner won’t dry up like ink does, so you end up paying less for your infrequent prints in the long run.

Barely related, but this reminded me of something one of my undergrad tutors said to me while complaining about the fastmath compiler switch: “I don’t need my program to arrive extremely quickly at the wrong answer! I can do that perfectly fine myself!”
The US was only pro free trade because it let them use their tech advantage (printing presses at the time) to flood less developed nations with their products and propaganda. :P

That’s my flimsy justification for pronouncing it like pseudo, anyway.
We agree on updating IP laws, but I think they should be curtailed rather than extended. You should not have the monopoly on an idea your entire life. If you can’t milk a fortune from it in 50 years it wasn’t that good an idea, so everyone else should be free to build on and improve it after that point.
And even if you absolutely kill it and your brand is still going strong decades later, that 50 years will cover anything new your did in that time. Plus it’s not like people wouldn’t know yours is the original even after the copyright expire; something entering public domain doesn’t make it legal to claim you invented it if you didn’t.
I know Blender can do at least some of this on windows. I assume the same is true on linux?

I use Gentoo. Most of my fstab entries are by partuuid, which works for me.
