I’m pretty sure it’s less than 10, and I just recently set up a Windows machine.

How TF did that take three days?
How I want a windows install is “working, with no BS”.
It comes out the box working, all I needed to do was disable Onedrive on boot. I haven’t even bothered to change the background, and probably won’t.
I think they eased up on that, I just didn’t log in for quite a while because it was all recommendations for meme pages.
Lemmy really struggles with satire, this was always going to be an uphill battle.
There’s also a number of things you have to click “no” on, like a free trial office or Onedrive.
It took me around an hour to set up my new Win 11 laptop, most of which was downloading and installing updates. I expected far worse.
I think creatives on Facebook overestimate their value to an extent, I use Facebook to see what my friends and family are doing, and because the sports I do are mostly arranged through Facebook pages.
The webcomics etc I follow are cool, but if they stopped posting I wouldn’t really miss them all that much.

Oh boy, cosplayers and DnD players got the shaft with that one.
Also just making their employees more productive.
There’s a very good reasons why people and organisations will pay for proprietary software when there is a free alternative available. I’ve used FOSS word processors before, for example, and they’re okay, but nothing like what Microsoft Office can do. Same with video editing.
Yeah, and you can wander off and do something else in the meantime.
