That’s a much appreciated compliment, thank you!
Yeah sounds like your current “friends” just don’t get how mentally exhausting some things can be for you.
I have some coworkers that commiserate and talk about technical work junk and usually that is enough to get it out of my system & with actual friends we usually don’t talk about work and just shoot the shit and relax and enjoy NOT being at work together.
Good luck getting your stuff figured out my friend!
My SO struggles with this too. I just get by with only one or two people I’d call friends and that works for me. I don’t need a lot.
But my SO struggles with friends in much the same way. They are always the one to reach out to the friends and ask to schedule things and plan in advance but it’s never the friends reaching out to do the same. I consider those not real friends - they’re friends out of convenience because it gives them something to do sometimes instead of actually caring.
So maybe keep track of things like this and see if your friends are actually friends and they care about you or because they get bored and occasionally want things to do.
It seems to me to be pretty normal as you age to distance yourself from others. Especially if you’re in a relationship and/or have a career or job you’re passionate about which it appears you care a lot for your field. Those two things alone will eat up the majority of your time. Throw in friends with that who also may have relationships and jobs etc that eat up all their time too. So naturally it’s difficult to plan things and people fall apart. Totally normal.
I always heard this in scouting. Might be incorrect but it still does a great job getting the point across. You’ll be a lot warmer with a beanie vs no beanie.
I’m so bad at getting exposure right! lol playing with the exposure slider in Lightroom makes it look a lot better especially the sky that I was thinking felt too dark. It may have made the building a bit too bright but that’s easy to tone down. Maybe I need to start paying more attention to the histogram.
I’ll take a look at how a red filter would change it. It kinda hurts my brain trying to think of how it would affect the image since it’s limited to black and white. I know some of the people I watch on YouTube use them sometimes - I’m sure I can find a how-to video.
Thanks so much for your input! I really appreciate it.
What a great read. Thanks for linking that article - I had no idea about most of that stuff.
This sounds exactly like how they would think! Especially the reach critical mass and defederate from everyone else.
It will just encourage others to find a home on other instances which is good for the fediverse ecosystem it’s not a bad thing :)
I hope it goes the same way as the time they “tested” playing like 10 super short ads before the video. That and this are both plain awful sigh
Didn’t you read? They’re blocking the adblockers lol
I really like your suggestion for reframing/reorganizing the shot. It would really capture that moment of awe a bit more intimately.
Agreed, equipment limitations will absolutely make you a better photographer!
Not sure if this is meant to be negative or positive but I for one like all the growing pains and issues. It makes the whole experience a little more engaging for me. I really like reading up on what problems are happening and how the teams are working towards solutions. I especially like the technical details that are just a little over my head because it’s fun to learn about!
In one of the posts a couple days ago the developer of wefef stated that the app is getting rate limited by lemmy.world servers because so many people are using it. I think they were trying to resolve it but I am still getting the same issue occasionally. It’s just growing pains of the whole ecosystem & totally expected and normal. I’m happy to be an early adopter of all this stuff and watching it grow and mature will be an exciting adventure!
Anything that’s so heavily advertised is a big red flag to me. To me it feels like they’re spending more on advertising than making a decent product and hoping people buy it instead of letting the product speak for itself. But that’s not necessarily only about Nord…
I wasn’t aware of this! I was reading through these comments and thinking that would be nice to have here too. It would echo the nice amount of transparency if something like this was implemented. Are there any downsides to showing this info?
Yeah…and how much was that phone? Like $2k USD. That’s not okay in the slightest. It’s okay to get a lemon item from amazon because we all know its cheap crap, but for a $2k phone!!? Hell no. How about google or whoever is manufacturing this thing do some proper QC and R&D and not sell shitty two thousand dollar phones??
Looking at it with my iPhone 14 Pro on full brightness it’s just a little too dark in my opinion. If I save the photo and view it it looks a little better but still a touch dark. It might would be bright enough if there was more of a glow coming through the windows.
I bet it would look absolutely sick printed though.
I struggle the same way with dark shots. If it’s something intended to post or share with people, then I’ll look at it at 50% brightness on whatever screen I’m using and brighten it until it’s how I want it to look. I think that takes care of most viewing situations in which people would see the photo.
However, If it’s something just for me I’ll make it as dark as it needs to be!
I really wish he would do a video about his personal photography. I always love it when he would get air time on LTT or one of their other channels talking about cameras and was always curious to see his photos.
