One big issue with retail computers coming with Linux is the kickbacks from the Windows ecosystem.

Things like AV trials and MS Office. I don’t know if they break even or make a profit on all the bloatware from a Windows based sale.

I’ve heard of several cases in the USA where they combine unrelated things to mess with voters. Even this one is kinda related but school education plus internet censorship. Split that shit up and let the people vote for what they want.

One example. Can’t really AD block ios that easily. But with a pi hole you don’t need to worry about anything.

Just setup the pi hole static IP as the dns in your routers settings and all devices are behind the one interface.

Got an issue? Just login to the pi hole website to manage it. White list some critical AD site for some stupid mobile game your kids play for example.

We’re also getting to the point where we can synthesize voices. They’d have to figure out rights but voice actors can still do major lines with feeling but the free form stuff can be voiced with ai as well.

I’ve decided to run Linux as my main os next PC build… I said that two years ago and still haven’t built my new rig.
