Do I need to know Jack shit about programming to use it? Cause…I mean I really don’t know Jack shit about but I’m down to jump ship!

Reporting as spam is your best tool. That keeps you from seeing them and hurts their deliverability which they VERY MUCH care about.
“a Hollywood movie”
Wow that’s so specific. What were you searching for? What were your parameters? You tried for an hour? Sounds like you don’t know anything about the movie. If you don’t know anything about it how can you expect a search engine to? It searches what you tell it, and it sounds like you didn’t tell it anything helpful.
A better question might be why shouldn’t they? I’m not being pedantic (at least not intentionally) but if their defining characteristic is that they’re nothing special, just a simple Linux distro that does the basic shit easily enough and looks nice - that has major appeal to people unfamiliar with Linux looking to leave other OS’s behind. The vast majority of people that use an OS really have very little idea how it works or why. They just want some basic level of understanding and control over it.

You know what else is random and probably related to their paid content? Their sorting doesn’t work right anymore. Posts in “hot” are regularly like more than a day old but then also some are brand new like minutes old. But if you sort by top 24 hours…same posts. Sometimes the order is different but easily 75% of the posts are the same. A 24 hour old post with no new comments is “hot”? A one hour old post with 20 comments is in the top posts of the past day?..OKAY
See @applebusch@lemmy. world’s comment in this same chain.
I mean yeah, same with adobe and loads of other enterprise software suites. Unfortunately, most of us have no way of convincing our enterprise to move off of their shitty suite. I personally use open his for as much as possible, but professionally I’m stuck with what my work makes me use.
I knoooooooow. I know arcgis is working on it at least. I’m a geologist, a ton of our geospatial programs require windows.
But I’m about ready to experiment with a dual joot for my home set up! I really never need windows for that anymore
Would I need to side load this on shield?
Is it difficult to install? Like do I need to side load it or can I install it straight from the UI? I am definitely over Google shoving non-stop ads into my paid for experience.
Ironically, Nvidia shield is a dedicated streaking device that can be swapped. Don’t kid yourself, Roku is just as bad with the ads. They recently updated their UI to pack more apps into their home grid, so that they could show ads for other apps and shows. Recently mine says “continue watching” Supergirl in one of them constantly.
We’ve never watched Supergirl and don’t even have the app it’s on installed.
The hilarious part to me is that they aren’t even good copies. They’re fucking blurry and pixelated like they literally clicked “copy image”, pasted it, and then stretched it out because they didn’t have a higher res image to work with.
I’m dead serious wtf is signal? It’s like texting but all texting apps just go through it? Or something?
I haven’t driven a stick in over a decade and this meme upsets me.
Watching YouTube 3 hours a day seems really unhealthy. Not judging, just pointing out.
How are you in a union that doesn’t have a collective bargaining agreement? Like how does that even work?
You do not need a service that did not exist ten years ago. I promise that you can live without it.
Well first, €200 is not the same as $200, so it’s not as high as you think but also second, you just named like twenty things wrong with your bike! Granted at that price point it’s cheaper to buy a new bike than invest in parts, but for more expensive/purpose focused bikes, Longevity and durability is a big part of the cost, but to your point isn’t necessary for everyone. I commute to work (7 mi each way, urban environment) on my bike and also do longer distance rides (20-35 miles) a few times per month. My bike was about $800 when I bought it (2019), and has somewhere in the neighborhood of 3500 miles on it. The base model of my bike though - you guessed it, $500.
Where can I buy these not over hyped but far better keyboards? I’m being serious, I need a new keyboard. Two actually, but one is like DIRE
