Every big web site in 2024 looks like the sites people warned you not to visit in the 90s

I must detect a flavor that others don’t because there’s a pretty strong flavor for me that can’t be ignored.

They sometimes make me burp, too. Maybe it’s one of those genetic things because my dad has the same experience.

Don’t get me wrong – I really like cucumbers, especially ones fresh from the garden, but I’d never eat a big chunk in one sitting, unless it were a pickle.

It would be way too much cucumber for me, but this is right up some people’s alley. My husband will eat an entire cucumber whereas I can only enjoy a few slices at a time.

I have celiac, and I’ll sometimes use iceberg lettuce leaves as sandwich material. I prefer that because it’s got a much milder flavor.

Just the name of that community alone is like all the red flags on earth being hoisted simultaneously

I dropped Prime before any of this happened. I was paying mostly for the two-day shipping, which became increasingly longer than two days.

What made me quit it was when I ordered two of the same item from the same seller, but one shipped from the seller and one direct from Amazon. Both were listed in stock. The one shipped by the seller arrived in three days. The one shipped by Amazon had not yet shipped after the first week. I even contacted the seller, who suggested I cancel, but Amazon wouldn’t accept my cancelation, so I had to wait more than two weeks for it to ship.

Turns out I was a fool to be paying Amazon all that time for a sub-optimal service. And I’ve saved so much money ever since when I can’t just buy things with free shipping. In fact, I rarely buy anything from Amazon at all anymore.

So this? This tracks with the direction they’ve been heading for a long time, and it doesn’t surprise me one bit.

Did you reply to the wrong person here? Where did I claim leftists were getting riled up over this? I even said in another comment that it seems to me leftists are concerned with the actual issues.

I also tend to latch onto certain things and become a bit obsessive. For example, I’ve listened to pretty much everything recorded by Asian Man Records since like the 90s haha

I don’t see how any of this is a justification for body shaming. If anything, you’re driving people away by engaging in things like body shaming and bigotry.

Focus on the issues. This is not one. And no, winning an election does not justify bad behavior. That’s … so counterproductive, like it’s exactly why I wouldn’t want to vote for someone.

Back in the 90s, saying the earth was flat meant you were open to talking through hypothetical science and creating wild theories. You knew the truth, but you never wanted to break kafabe. The sheer sillyness was part of the fun.

See, this is what I thought we were doing back then too, but I’ve got a different hypothesis. I believe many of the people we were talking to back then actually really did believe it. I don’t think people were any more level-headed back then than they are now – we just assumed they were joking because that’s what we were doing.

From the POV of the US, I’d argue that the war on terror was a rousing success. They got the surveillance state they wanted.

My experience has been different. There’s such a wealth of good music out there that I hardly know where to stop. Almost every time I see an artist perform, I want to buy their album.

Now, finding new good music that’s also popular is another thing.

Or maybe I legit have bad taste in music, but if so I’m ok with that because I’m having fun.

As someone who lives in South Dakota, I feel compelled to add that he was a white nationalist who was involved with the KKK. There is nothing good or respectable about Mt. Rushmore, and the only awe it inspires is a feeling of dread at how deeply racist my state and nation are.
