Oh look, its Serj Trunkien!
Macaroni_ninja@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Neighbour is deliberately harassing my family by blasting the radio on subwoofers in every room from 7:30 AM till 11:30 AM every day. Can anything be done about this? Me and my family are at wit's end2·1 month agoA friend of mine had a similar issue. Also UK, West London a guy was blasting his car stereo every night in front of his garage, often till 8-9 pm, in some cases during the night while having some weird people over. It was very loud, walls vibrating, etc
Various neighbours called the police on him at least 5 times but nothing happened, he turned off the music for a while, ignored the cops and turned it back on after they left.
They told them they need hard proof to do anything, this would involve getting a regular recording of the music and they should measure the decibels and vibrations to prove how disturbing it is to start anything. It was just the most bizarre way of telling people the local council and police will do nothing. Who the fuck has this kind of equipment and knowledge to do this?
Needless to say nothing happened. My friend moved to another place because of work within 6 months.
I do hope in your case the local law enforcement will be more competent, I wish I could give you an actual advice instead of a story :(
Cycling, linux and archery
Airlines store their airplanes on airports most of the time when not in the air. Airports charge them a huge amount of money for this. Even if if there is a few minutes delay, they get big fines for occupying a gate.
Imagine having extra planes on standby.

Imagine you want to leave MS and windows behind and are greeted by comments of your caliber. Then please provide an alternative starting point, elaborate, be helpful.
This is just passive aggressive my dude.

Nintendo is just a small slice of the gaming industry. If you don’t like what you see there are other platforms and game developers.
For 80 usd you can buy a handful of bigger titles during a Steam sale. Just saying.

I personally use a Kobo without the online features, which is fantastic, but there are many great Kindle alternatives without the corporate spyware bullshit.
Welcome to the club :D I did the same thing last summer and also switched to Mint and never looked back. So basically Im a fellow newbie. It was the best decision as everything just works minus the windows shenanigans.
Even gaming is almost perfect (apart from the occasional tinkering here and there) its more than great. All my games work great, some better than under win.
Im even in the middle of building my new gaming PC exclusively for Linux in mind.
As I have to use win 11 for work (work laptop) I can see switching was the right decision as every update makes it more annoying and bloated.
Same. For pictures max size icons.
