You can easily repurpose old drives for this. I started my server scavenging drives and using my laptop. I upgraded to some WD NAS HDD and I’m about to upgrade to a better Synology NAS.
There are options for people wanting to start hosting.
You can go to your closest library and do the exact same thing: copy all books by hand, or whatever. Of you then use that information to make a product you sell, then you’re in trouble, as the books are still protected by copyright, even when they’re publicly available.
He also said Linux-friendly, lol.
There’s definitely people only looking for free content, but others like me pay a fair amount of money for the services needed to get going a Plex server, for example. I pay for a VPN to stream outside my network, I pay for JDownloader, a MediaFire account, a Plex subscription, etc…
It’s cheaper to just stick to Netflix and their horrible catalog and practices than to run my server the way I do, but it’s not just about the money.
Isn’t that called a Cartel?
Uber was cheaper because they were burning VC, like every other startup. Uber service declined A LOT soon after that. At least in my country Uber drivers vehicles are complete trash, almost falling apart because Uber cannot afford to limit themselves to drivers with mint vehicles anymore.
The May store it, but Russia wants Google to store it in Russian territory.
They’re still up, but you have to pay a subscription to download. At least that’s what the webisode I found said.
Didn’t Canada just now passed a law legalizing assisted suicide for the homeless? THATs what I’d call their solution to homelessness/s
Don’t blame Linux, hardware manufacturers have never been kind to the Linux community, but things have been changing for a few years now.
LM is a great start, congrats. My Linux story began in 2010 with Ubuntu, and I never went back. I’m rocking a Fedora station for my daily use, and Im more in love with Linux than ever.
How so? I miss the old gnome, but I have accepted gnome 3 for what it is. Kde was quite interesting for me back in 2012, but it didn’t perform well with my old setup. What’s new with kde? Id like to give it a try, but I’m too old to break my SO by having both gnome and kde on it.
I’d say piracy is not even free, if done right. I mean, you may want to support JDownloader, MediaFire, Mega, your VPN, and whatnot.
I’m not into piracy (wink), but if I did, I’d pay my monthly Plex subscription, MediaFire account, and tip JDownloader monthly for their effort.
Yup, came to say they should move to Plex/Jellyfish to get away from the streaming shitshow.
That has to be the case only in the US.
The thing is you can’t really buy phones directly for the brands themselves, you can only buy them through the carriers. Apple is the exception, and I’ve recently seen a few brands having their own stores, but those are the exception.
Most if not all people have to buy theie phones from at&t or similar, which have their phones lockes to their networks, and having them unlocked is a PITA, without considering the bloatware you’re stuck with unless you get into ROMs
I got sick of this business model years ago, the las phone o bought just last month is a Pixel I got from Amazon marketplace, shipped from the US.
As for configuration yes, those are pushed through sms upon activation. I’ve no idea why they came up with locking these importe phones just now, but thats certainly a violation to our rights as consumers…
There are regulations regarding power and network configuration phone need to comply. Bought from outside Mexico, these devices are not being regulated. Still, do you think Samsung and the rest have our best interest in mind?
Any phone bought from a carrier will be blocked by them, not allowing you to used with any other carrier. They also install bloatware in them, making them slower. That’s why the las phone I bought was an American phone, a Pixel.
I just learned last month about Kagi and I’m never going back to Google.
That comparison doesn’t make any sense.
