Protip: Many cars use slow charging USB 2.0 for wired Android Auto - if you use this, you cab instead plug your phone into a fast charging outlet instead

Pretty sure it actually predates Apple’s version too…
This is exactly why restaurants shouldn’t use QR codes as menus, they’re attack vectors - anyone can just come in and slap on their own QR sticker.
I just use the ping integration of Home Assistant, simple for me since I’ve already got HA running.
Tbf, it’s all about usage and charhing habits. My S22 lasts my work day, but at around ~30%, but I also only charge it to 85%.
If I didn’t charge it on the drive home, it’d probably die during the day.
I’d imagine this article is more of statement against the S23 Ultra, than a humble brag. At this point, even if you are able to afford it, why upgrade yearly?
Phones aren’t getting drastic upgrades with each physical release - most exciting upgrades are typically software based.
Amazing how enshitification has continued to march on.
They’re also apparently adding markdown which is neat, but considering all the recent Google news of them trying to lock down the web, I’d rather they focus on adding an RCS API so other apps can exist…
Yea this will be back with an open standard so OEMs and carriers can shop around for cheaper prices
I truly miss the way circles worked. It was very nice to not see political posts from people you were only interested to see Video Gaming posts from.
This seems more like a way to achieve what Samsung does with its messaging app
There’s a setting under Message’s RCS chat to auto resend as SMS if RCS can’t send.
To be fair, this setting is reliably not working and is a known issue.
Admitting to lying in a state where lying for business is explicitly a crime (even if bo one is hurt), is a bold strategy.
I’m not entirely sure that’s true. The money goes to Mozilla and Mozilla will use it to fund Firefox (and other projects). It seems to work exactly how one would expect it to work - you just can’t donate directly to a project such as Firefox.
There are limits to how much money they can move to projects due to their structure as a 501©3, (but all of their projects are towards an open web) so maybe not all of the funding goes to Firefox, but it still does go to Firefox.
Not to mention you can self host and be your own admin.
Not surprising given Android’s history of tablet support, foldables won’t be terribly different.
Need sustained support to facilitate app developers putting in the effort to update their apps for foldables.
Especially polls a year early.
You’d be surprised about people in Pennsylvania.
Going through Milford close to election night was a surreal experience.
Not that I know much about it, but I assume Ireland also knows much about two close areas attacking each other…
I wouldn’t be surprised if they discontinue it like they have with Assistant location based reminders.
Depending on your usage, wired (due to being slow charging, typically) can actually drain the battery faster than it charges.
But since you’re using it tirelessly, you can use a fast charger via your 9v outlet (or other fast charging USB).
It sucks it uses so much power, but you’re probably better off if you need to charge your phone anyway
