It’s good, it’s great for Ukraine if they do. If Russia finds resources somewhere else, this could end up being a pointless excursion.

Absolutely! The whole narrative has already changed. I think the slow and confused response from Russia as they are struggling to find resources to stop this incursion is what speaks the loudest. … but, at some point they will find those resources. If there is no progress anywhere inspite of this?
I know we are all happy Ukraine taking land like this, having some military success. I don’t want to be a downer, but it’s also a liability taking land you have no desire to hold. Sure I understand all the benefits of this, absolutely. It’s great success. I just hope it translates into frontline changes where it matters more.
Gimp sucks. That’s why people on Linux rather use krita to edit photos and it wasn’t even built to do that.
Gimp is a horrible mistake that should literally be killed off and it should be put into a failure museum to serve as a warning and a reminder how Foss can take a wrong turn and many free development hours are spent towards building the wrong things and continue to disappoint any user that tries it.
Glide bombs glide on initial inertia. They have to be dropped from the highest possible point at around 15 k meters to get them to fly the furthest. Patriot system can detect them way before that.
Ukraine is using a limited amount of relatively old western weapons. The atacams it got are 30 years old and only cluster ones. If it got a fair amount of the normal ones, that are already all but deprecated in USA, that alone would be somewhat of a game changer. There is nothing wrong with over-engineered weapons.
I’m trying to picture any other sustained conflict with western weapons and nothing comes to mind.
Patriot is mobile so it’s moved where it is most needed.
Bravo! Great move. It’s been confirmed by the Russian side as well.
Im sure Joe has a mountain of people to interpret the numbers.
Truth is, numbers are bad. Just the other day there was an abysmal poll that showed people trust trump more on everything but behaving well and abortion. Not by a thin margin. I don’t know much about it, but It was reported on a reputable left wing network. It’s really not looking good for him and for the Democrats that have no backup plan. The right have succeeded to portray him as a frail senile incompetent man with corruption issues. It’s a failure of the democrat establishment.
Yes! It’s just not as good and more importantly, it’s not good enough. At first I thought it’s because I’m not as familiar, but no, they are just not set up as good as Adobe. That’s the bottom line. Why waste time.
Good luck. Really, I hope you find something. I’m working on these products for hours daily, I can’t afford to use something that will increase that time.
Yes. Bought the whole package. I decided that this is the software for me and tried to use it. After two months, I gave up. It’s not bad, it’s just not as good. It just takes an extra click here and there, a function less here and there, an illogical here and there and that culminates to my work being done slower and me being annoyed. Affinity designer being the worst, missing auto tracing and messing up svg exports.
Not to mention the new generative ai functions that are now natively in Adobe products. That’s literal gold. You can’t be a serious designer and not use that. That saves up so much time, it’s not possible to not have. Not possible. Adobe won. We can cry about it and whine, but they won. To bad, but it is what it is.
And the subscription price. It’s easy to get 50% off on deals for the whole package. That’s about 35 per month. That is a negligible. That’s like less than an hour of work on a freelancers hourly rate.
Sorry, I thought everyone will understand that I’m taking about photoshop, illustrator, indesign, AE and not that every single Adobe product ever made is absolutely better than every single other product that has ever been made ever… Next time, I will try to be more precise. I deeply apologise
Delusional? I’m sure you just mean to capture my attention, but you dont have to try like that.
I’m not here to defend Adobe or praise their products. For the last 2 years I have done my best to get rid of them and finally, about a month ago I conceded and payed for the subscription again.
Let me tell you, there is no software (none, 0), that can do half what photoshop can do and is less buggy. That doesn’t say, photoshop or any other Adobe product is not buggy and doesn’t have issues, it’s just a fact there is no competition.
I say that completely confidently and with no delusion anywhere.
As a designer that uses figma every day, I have to say…
… I don’t care one bit. I have to subscribe and use Adobe software anyway, not only because everyone else uses them, but because that’s simply the best graphic software out there and I’ve tried it all. Not too mention that the full Adobe subscription, that you can usually get 50% off, is not that expensive anyway, compared to many saas that are buggy and just do one simple thing. So yeah, I don’t hate Adobe anymore, everyone is doing what they are doing and most of the software out there is complete garbage and even more expensive.
That’s why I said voters. It doesn’t matter, that’s not the point. Point is, it can happen again. Just a few slip ups from a frail octogenarian known for having slip ups. You think EU can pick up the slack? All they do is make vague promises then end up sueing eachother.
I wish I was that optimistic. Maybe I would be if there wasn’t for a few hundred thousand armed Russians nobody cares about still available and the wavering minimal support from the west.
EU is a joke. At least the Americans gave the 30 year old long range missiles.
What a cute ass comment, I guess? Would totally make sense if there wasn’t the fact of a trump presidency.
Now tell me how that can’t happen again.
They are proving you wrong. They have enough soldiers that they pay a lot to join. Their drone capabilities are improving, they are in a war economy now and they can run that for some time for sure. Iran is helping, NK has stockpiles of munition and a thirst for rocket tech.
What does Ukraine have? EU that promises 1mio bombs and delivers 300k? Usa, where half the voters don’t want to help anymore?
Maybe. On the other hand, we have seen that Russians are slow to learn and adapt, but in the end they do.
