Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom is required under state law to call a special election within two weeks of McCarthy’s seat becoming vacant. I’m very leary about installing any extensions that use the permission “Access your data for all websites”. I get that they need to see the website so they can do their thing, but I just don’t trust that they are any better having my data than the site I just visited.

As someone who currently uses Pulse SMS+ and has been looking for alternatives like Google Messaging, are there any major issues I should be aware of?

I liked Pulse since I could send messages from a desktop app, but I can’t install it on my work computer any longer.

I also liked the WearOS app from Pulse, but they discontinued it.

Might be using App Manager from FDroid, but I’m not sure. I have App Manager, but I don’t have root on my phone. So it might have the ability to block trackers, but I can’t tell for sure.
