are there any breaking incompatibilities between kbin and lemmy?
are there any breaking incompatibilities between kbin and lemmy?
I sometimes read ieee spectrum for that stuff
nice program, how do you think it’s best to achieve it? Politics isn’t just about goals it’s about methods.
And don’t forget other classic libertarian stumbling block, environmental pollution. Even if libertarians admit it’s an issue I still haven’t seen any ways of solving a truly global issue which has no immediate measurable harm (and not fixing it is heavily incentivized by the free market)
Haven’t used it myself but a couple comments on hacker news said that it’s underrated because it works so well there’s no persistent community/ecosystem around it like for other tools
Only caveat is that it’s performance in simple cases isn’t as good as rsync
people were too stupid to not elect a populist
i mean he did also lose the popular vote. that was a pretty significant thing that happened. like i understand where you’re coming from here but he very much did lose the popular vote.
afaict ads only show up if you use one of the shitty view modes anyway
I mean they clearly don’t want to be in Russia themselves. Same as how not everyone coming in from Mexico is Mexican.
So if they’re not even Russian then how are they a ‘security threat’? Why keep them out?? I’ll be honest this just looks like the typical white supremacist anti immigrant bs I usually see from westerners. “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best.” etc
I imagine mastodon has a lot more developers so they added compatibility first
I mean I’d be really surprised if we have monetization through anything other than wikipedia style donation drives
ok this comment finally got me to download ubuntu i hope you’re happy
Our hopes should be that the body politic in both America and Israel (the two countries with power to stop it) wakes up and mobilizes to stop it. This is so much faster and more blatant than what america did post 9/11 that I believe (def biased but also seeing encouraging signs) that we can pull it off this time.
Isn’t mastodon/the fediverse sponsored by the German government? Maybe we could do something around that
is there not an option to turn them off??
They removed it from the main body as like, an organizing principle. and left it in only one sentence at the end. https://gizmodo.com/google-removes-nearly-all-mentions-of-dont-be-evil-from-1826153393
That is so cool I didn’t realize lemmy and mastodon were different views into the same database, assumed they were different services with no overlap except some underlying tech (I don’t know much about fediverse structure). But how does that work with like, character limits? Iirc lemmy can have much longer comments
Wait are you messaging from mastodon?? Is that why the emoji won’t render
and it’s the job of news media to correct that sort of thinking
