Criminal charges shouldn’t be an impediment to having a successful political career, says the GOP.

That is a strawman because it’s not what I said.
I’ll tell you what. Why don’t you explain why you think a vote makes a decision inherently good? Break down the philosophical case for me, and show me how it leads to optimal outcomes and under which circumstances if such should be applied.
Yes, it would have been better to take the results of the non-binding referendum, create a study group that would have had sufficient time to prepare an actual exit plan with multiple options, forecasted results for each, and then make a decision whether to exit or not based on the study.
There’s nothing inherently good about putting up something for a vote and proceeding blindly on it, and to put something so fundamental and world changing up for a simple majority vote while swimming in disinformation and ignorance was beyond stupid.
Violating New York City’s busing rules will result in a class B misdemeanor, the order says, which is punishable by up to 3 months in jail and fines of up to $500 for individuals and up to $2,000 for corporations. In addition, bus companies could have their buses impounded by the New York City Police Department.
No.
GOTO Hell
is BASIC.
“Thank god you’re here, Mr. President. Your new name is Billy O’Brien and you’re about to take over as the leading candidate for the Democratic nomination.”
I am standing by and watching my doorbell cam. I’ll let you know when he shows.
It’s a tough life in the salami mines.
Thank you for posting this. It’s a fantastic article.
This is coming to the US.
The war on drugs and the crime bill had significant support in the black community and were endorsed by both political and religious leaders.
Getting into the uselessness of the “tough on crime” position politicians take would be a very involved discussion, but at the time it was not seen the way we now see it in hindsight, and it had pretty widespread support.
Don’t bother. It’s just that site that backs hate sites like Truth Social and other far right media. The article itself is blowing all of the world government dog whistles they’ve been sounding since the John Birch Society was in business.
Saw the same thing with a garage band named “And Many More” that would always ask to be listed last on concert flyers.
That’s a good point. China has construction capacity like no place else on earth.
I also wonder if the technology involved would make this more deployable in the global south due to fewer infrastructure dependencies.
In our view, Hungary fulfills all the qualities of the rule of law
We self-certify our compliance and reject any review. Just give us money please.
I very badly want this to be true, but I simply cannot imagine it. I think my company might have more SREs than Twitter has employees, but I cannot see how they could do global ops like that. Or even just California ops.
People with money tend to trust people with money because their ego tells them how smart they are because of their own success, and they project that onto others.
Elon is also a brilliant con man, exactly like Donald Trump. They’re so close, it’s uncanny. Elon apparently got $13B in loans from major banks by telling them that his businesses never lose money.
We will have to see if reality is finally catching up with them.
I think I might have been unclear. I’m not saying any state needs to follow BvG. I’m saying that BvG is part of the set of cases saying that the feds have to defer to the states. So, the opposite.
I do agree there’s a likelihood they’ll try to overthrow the election again, though. I just don’t think there’s any actual legal argument they can make, and if it does go back to the courts, they’ll decide the same way.
I think the legal argument is closed and Trump will not appear on the ballot absent scotus making a reversal that would make Roe look like child’s play.
Note: That doesn’t mean that this is over. It means that the next steps are going to be very mask off.
I know a number of companies that have introduced exercise programs. In every case it’s clearly done on the employee’s own time, is made accommodating, and the reward for completing your 4000 steps per day or whatever is a tee shirt or something. It’s not that these things can’t be done.
Plus companies do stupid things that get them sued all the time. Look at Elon.
Thanks for saving me the search.
Also, there was the one where they were testing their sprinting speed with the radar sign, and Michael claimed he was running at 30 mph because a car drove by while he was going.
I know - that’s my point. The gop doesn’t care whether a politician is a criminal, or whether they engaged in an attempt to violently overthrow the government.
