  • No,I just had to deal with this myself. Most you can do is share your entire desktop in Wayland, and it’s shaky. For the first time, I had to switch to Xorg and bingo, zoom works. Fonts are actually antialiased and kerned properly for certain applications that weren’t… Really surprising.

  • You can rescue some as I have. Birds are very unique and fun, but fragile and want as much love as they give (which is a lot).

I have two conures, one was “too loud” and ignored in the corner of their garage for a few years until he started pulling out all his feathers and chewing off one of his toes, at which point he was donated.

It took about a month to get him to trust me. He will not stop attacking his own feathers, but now does so in a relaxed, quiet way while on my shoulders. He loves to just hang out with me while I’m doing some design work or programming, calling from the open door of his cage in a certain way when he wants to shoulder surf. He’s afraid of everyone else, but I know him, his body language tells me that he likes being around me.

They are a unique gift in terms of a life form. I wouldn’t buy one. Go for a rescue, try to sense their personalities as you talk to them.

  • Same. I remember waking into my local bodega in 2016 and seeing that buffoon’s face next to giant type screaming “HE WON!! WOW!!”… First I was like, well he’s also lived in NYC, I know he hired undocumented people for some projects. He can’t get as crazy as his campaign… Right?

Then NYC had to stop ICE from posting up near our courthouses and police stations, trying to prey on people actively working with the legal system for help or to voluntarily answer for crime or mistakes.

"These jurisdictions have caused immeasurable harm to the American people and to the very fabric of our Republic.” he said, and tried to withhold federal funds from our cities.

We all shrugged at his impotent executive order, both because of how much money and self sufficiency we all provide each other. But he was always banging on our door, to steal neighbors and friends out of our communities, whether they had federal permission to be here or not.

Are we lawless for disregarding the law a bit? Maybe. But are we human-centric for giving people the chance to do right, to live and contribute to the American dream?

You decide, both I and my old city already have.
