Businesses make decisions based on money. People make decisions based on vibes.

Phew, glad my psychiatrist prescribed me Ritalin.
This is an ego fluffer app, not a scientific study. The accuracy is “good enough” to give you a rough idea of your performance, and if youre really into optimizing WPM, give you a way to track progress or the impacts of using different keyboards.
Getting a high score doesn’t actually mean anything except you probably use your phone too much.
The core focus of early crypto was decentralization, not anonymity. Bitcoin is totally decentralized, but the entire premise is the blockchain contains a permanent irrefutable ledger of transactions. Basically everyone knows if Wallet A paid Wallet B. If you refill your wallet with anything remotely traceable, that means everyone knows YOU paid Wallet B, and similarly if wallet B has any ties to the real world, the lines are easy to connect.
That’s not to say you can’t use it anonymously, but that was not the intent and thus it does anonymity poorly.
I get the joke, but also I was shocked to see in the article:
Thunderbird for Android runs on mobile devices running Android 5 and above.
Who out there is still running Lollipop?! That came out over a decade ago. You can’t even get Thunderbird through the Play Store because Google Play Services dropped support for 5.1 back in July. I have so many questions.
All of the banks I’ve used in the past utilize email or SMS for 2FA, which isn’t the most secure, but doesn’t require an app.
Unpaid Linux ambassadors? Isn’t that just Lemmy?
I too choose this man’s duck.
I mean, given that he served for almost a decade as Trump’s VP and Chief of Staff, it really seems like he’s a no brainer for a cabinet position
Ah, the Grand Wizard himself! With such a stable group of geniuses, you’d think you wouldn’t have such a hard time finding a place to crash to burn crosses, or jerk each other off, or whatever it is you do in your safe space echo chambers.
There is a third option for you - as others have suggested, you can use a tool like Handbrake to extract the content from your DVDs, but from there, if you’re feeling adventurous, you can acquire a higher quality release from… Somewhere else… Get it in .mkv format, and you can use a tool like MKVToolNix to extract the audio from your DVD copy and “mux” it onto your HD copy.
MKV files are great because they are really just containers (like a fancy .zip), keeping the audio and video independent, allowing you to easily swap one out for the other.
The only downside is you may have to edit the audio slightly to sync up with your video
The fact that the headline says “Chinese Carmaker” and not “BYD” says a lot about their international market share.
All of whom have processes software and employees who are not prepared to swap to Linux
Can I carry that loss over for the next… 100 years or so?
My only wired headphones are for gaming (not on my phone), and I’m planning to replace those soon with something wireless as I’m tired of getting tangled up getting in and out of my desk.
Wireless headphones are great. Not perfect, but neither are wired.
They’re probably still marketing to boomers, maybe an ok play in the short term, but that target audience is probably not going to prop them up forever
Kinda middle of the pack overall, but they’re our ahead of every American manufacturer, so there’s that.
All of these systems are great until you run into “password must be 9-11 characters and contain two symbols from a hidden list of acceptable symbols, which we will not expose to the user but instead only inform you you’ve chosen the wrong symbol”. I can’t see myself relying on a system like this for more than providing a secure password to my digital password manager.
Reporters like Jamal Khashoggi have been showing us how arse UAE is for years. This is no surprise.
Which part are you dubious about?
Not enough land for meat? There is technically… but it requires factory farms and STILL we need to chop down huge swaths of the amazon to keep the machine churning.
Not enough land for plant based diets? Is takes only about 1/10th the amount of land to grow plants for human consumption than to grow plants for feeding our animals that we then consume. Sure not every alfalfa farm on the planet can switch to cucumbers out the gate, but well over 10% can…
