I love the functionality of TG. It has it all. Add bots in the mix an you have a powerful chat. Would like it to be a bit more trustworthy and E2EE by default.

5·1 year agoPassword manager is something I’ve been preaching but they seem to find it to much of a hassle. Set up Ubikeys for my MIL. Works like a charm.

1·1 year agoI use www.startpage.com It’s Google without the trackers. Probably not really what you’re looking for but is does the job really well.
There are supposed to be only a few working guillotines in France but they allegedly lie in a museum cellar somewhere.
I suppose the onboarding has a lot to do with it. Creating a mastodon-compatible account is a hassle. You have to ke choices. The experience isn’t seamless.
They need to be sure it’s you who’s unsubscribing, I suppose. There’s been enough social engineering to not rely on emails only.

Edit: You were aiming at Streetcomplete, I see now. This is in their FAQ:
According to our tests, it does work without Google Play Services being installed, but, as said before, the device needs to be compatible.
