Ever since covid it’s made sense most of the time to buy brand new for exactly the reason you state. I sure wouldn’t buy a 2-3 year old car to save 10%. If someone treated it poorly it may require expensive repairs or not last as long.

Your first comment was about a family of devices and now you only talk about the iPhone….because that’s the only device that has an open source alternative. Google/android/chrome offerings to every other category are worse than apples offerings, stuff is half baked. I’m all for open source but there is no denying how smooth all of apples devices just work with each other. That means something too. Not being open source do not equal bad automatically either.
I personally don’t care about taking source code and compiling it or installing custom roms. I have other hobbies that take my time. I want a devices that work 99% of the time without effort straight from the box.
If you enjoy non-apple products that’s great but this place just feels like the early days of Reddit where everyone is so anti-Apple because it’s cool. They do some shitty things (like basically every company ever) but they also do some really cool things too, like a family of 6 different products working seamlessly together.
So cringey. Some people do like Apple products. Nothing beats the Mac/macbook, Apple Watch, iPad or AirPods in their respective categories. Android and iPhone are basically feature wise the same so get what you like.
But, how is it any different than being vendor locked into android with their wearables or tablets or chromebooks? Apple made an ecosystem that works well together. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s bad.
That number probably exists with every area code so you could just use your local one if you don’t know.
I think the Firewalla may be able to broadcast WiFi (I’m not sure) but it doesn’t matter much to me because it’s tucked away in my utility room. I need a couple AP’s for my upstairs for all my wireless devices.
I’ll take a look at ubiquiti. I like to tinker but I don’t think my wife will like the internet cutting in and out while I try to figure out how to set it up or troubleshoot something.
And expecting our government to have the knowledge to regulate is crazy. I agree with you but our current government doesn’t have the slightest clue what technology is.
Yup, my brother in law has one and he had a civic before. Didn’t like either implementation. Would take a light in my mirror any day
I disagree. I’m already looking at my mirror to see if a car is in the lane besides me. A nice light indicator can be seen at the same time. I also need to double check my blind spot while I’m already looking in that direction. A camera makes me look completely opposite of where I should be looking.
Nothing will ever be foolproof, nothing is 100% certain. A blind spot monitor indicator is way better than a camera. Honda used to do the camera method and now use the indicator like everyone else. The camera method sucks.
Doesn’t matter to me. I have like 10 different credit cards to get the best cash back depending where I’m shopping. Currently the best I get at Microsoft would be 2% so this is a pretty sweet card.
I don’t know why so many are caught up on the interest rate. You shouldn’t keep a balance on your credit card and should pay it off every month. No rewards card will ever come close to a good thing if you ever pay interest on it.
It’s also 5 points per dollar when spending at Microsoft, which is 5% back and a good deal. Majority of cards are 1% base with a bonus if you shop at their store. This card is pretty standard for the industry.
It won’t be hard to find the planes these parts are associated with. Aerospace is hardcore about traceability. It’s not like people flying need to be worrying about the plane they are on.
What’s wrong with putting a light in the side mirror like every other car?
They are vehicle specific. I own a Toyota tundra and a Mazda Miata so I hang out on tundras.com and miata.net
Vehicle related forums are very much alive. It’s the best place you can go to get help with your car. I hang around on a couple different ones and it’s far better than anything I’ve seen on Reddit.
Wouldn’t it have been easier to block it from accessing the internet through a firewall? And having a firewall helps you see what’s going on with the rest of your network.
Yeah, that seems odd. Wouldn’t the Apple TV be the most privacy friendly commercial streaming box?
I have gamepass ultimate and it says I can’t play till the 6th
You must have replied to the wrong person because I’m not arguing the pixel doesn’t have 3.2. I’m saying the USB-C spec does allow for USB 2.0. The commenter I replied to is stating absolutely wrong information.
I always see this but I used Plex on my iPhone for months before I bought the Plex pass. I did buy the Plex app way back when and maybe that’s why but I’m also using a new Plex account so I don’t see how’d they be tied together.
