I absolutely love it, and I’m never going back to an ordinary distribution again. I do fine regarding software. I use standard channels, non-free channel, flatpaks and a few appimages. I can’t think of anything i’m missing atmo…

Just a thought, but in a few years all old ugly photos can be refined, upscaled, content edited, rotated and animated - in 32K ultra. It could even recognize the exact mobile model a random photo was taken with and pre-set the best filters.

It prolly won’t matter much if the photo is taken with a hundred year old handheld plate camera or a brand new digital mounted one - it will look great regardless.

Are you sure photo hardware is the way to go ? I think I would just use whatever you already have and upgrade the pictures later when the software allows it.

If low on hw then look into petals or the kobold horde frameworks. Both share models in a p2p fashion afaik.

Petals at least, lets you create private networks, so you could host some of a model on your 24/7 server, some on your laptop CPU and the rest on your laptop GPU - as an example.

Not exactly what you want, but below each video in freetube, there’s an ‘up next’ playlist that afaik are still recommended. You can use it to find similar content.

Hm, not sure why he thinks bcachefs will ‘mature’ over the coming months ? …unless more debugging/stability features are enabled by default.

I’ve just started using freetube. I’ve noticed short periods of very low quality stream once in a while. Not sure if the periods match Ad time, tho. Do you experience those low Q periods?

I don’t think you have any clue what the military power of the Russians are. I bet you’ve watched your telly and just trust whatever you are told by western ‘analysts’. Currently, Russian military is the strongest military in the world, and are winning against the third Nato backed army. Deal with it. Watch ‘The Duran’ on YT, or follow some real news channels on Telegram…

‘repo2docker fetches a repository (from GitHub, GitLab, Zenodo, Figshare, Dataverse installations, a Git repository or a local directory) and builds a container image in which the code can be executed. The image build process is based on the configuration files found in the repository.’

That way you can perhaps just delete the docker image and everything is gone. Doesn’t seem to depend on jupyter…

Only a very small fraction of the 27000 new members are capable of developing the platform, and many (like me) don’t donate directly. However, members might be more willing to donate AI or other IT resources in an ‘indirect’ way.

There are 27000 members with access to an AI, that can code (more or less). There are also developer agent architectures like ‘smol-ai’, and ‘gpt engineer’ etc, that works directly on a code base, that could assist with the development. An AI could run through the git requests and create a list of ‘easy’ non blocking features to develop/fix, and the members developer architecture could take on one of these issues and do a pull request. Another way is for Lemmy to host such an architecture, and let members donate ‘AI prompts’, or even API keys (when accounting is possible) for common development.

The tooling/workflow integration isn’t quite there yet to be helpful now, and the chance of Lemmy devs getting time for this right now is null.

But how fast could Lemmy development get with 2-300 member AI’s working 24/7 on bugs/features ? I’m not a developer, so I don’t know how to set up such an AI assisted development workflow. But it could be done, and development speed of ALL open source projects in general would skyrocket with an open to join ‘AI developer architecture’.

Hey, we could even have a global federated FOSS AI developer architecture, and people/smaller AI architectures with cool ideas for open projects could request global FOSS AI developer time for their idea/project. I’m sure someone is already working on something like this.
