Would like to see a full featured phone like the Note 9.

I use the desktop FreeTube app and watching YouTube works smoothly. On mobile, I use invidious via a browser or Safari in iOS with 1Blocker and NewPipe on Android.
Let’s be honest, GM can’t make money off owners using this software. They can make their own and have owners pay a subscription like some Tesla owners do now.
I’m using FreeTube and NewPipe to view now. Yewt.ube is working on iOS devices in Safari with 1Blocker. Firefox and uBO is my last option if I happen to click a link that opens automatically.
Really wish there was an iOS app similar to the open source apps listed above. Currently Safari browser and 1Blocker are still working for me on my devices.
I’ve always worked for smaller private companies because my partner always got screwed working at bigger corporations.
Good. Now let’s stop talking about this man daily.
I use Fedora on my T470 with no issues. It might just be Arch. Have you tried other distros? I wish there was a ThinkPad community here.
I also use Fedora on a 2008 Mac Pro with no issues. I’m really surprised how good it is because I’ve been using Linux since the 90s and never had it just run smoothly on my older hardware.
Pretty much why I still use a Note 9. I’ve tried switching to other phones but keep going back to this phone.
Expandable storage was great for consumers but not the big corporations. They can charge much more for storage and keep their prices high for that reason.
As long as this phone works, I’ll stick with it.
If I was single it would be easier but ya know family 🤷♂️
I use FreeTube on desktop and NewPipe on mobile. I’m still searching for a solution to the AppleTV.
I use FreeTube on my desktop and Newpipe on my GrapheneOS Pixel 7, I don’t see any ads or graphic overlays. The family uses AppleTV and the YouTube app is a horrible experience with the amount of ads, even for a 3 minute video. Future project is to look into Pihole or something to block ads at the router level.
Another vote for Fedora. I run it on a 2008 Mac Pro daily just fine. Good luck.
Maybe that new application Ticketbooth with TMDB integration and a Trakt like connection would work. I would love that.
As much as I enjoy working hybrid remote, it is not helping the business in the long run. My coworkers complain that there is less accountability and collaboration. Some can’t do their job properly because team members do not show up. There is no mentoring happening as these individuals pick and choose their days and sometimes don’t come in.
Hybrid is a bad in between for us and it is showing.
Now I see my coworkers starting to quit and switching to jobs that demand their employees in every day. Money is one reason but also they miss feeling part of a team which is important in my industry. My position isn’t team based so I’m fine either way and do feel better going in a few days a week so I’m not outcasted!
I feel my company is the last one in the industry with 3 day a week in the office structure. Not to sure what will change but I do know for a fact more coworkers will be leaving. 😢
For my household, the price will always be lower than local cable and there is always something to watch! For free live tv, we use a HDhomerun and tv antenna.
From what I’ve read only Apple cables will work with limitations put on regular usb-c cable. Typical Apple nonsense.
I recently purchased a car with CarPlay and use Apple Maps daily. I feel like I’m the only one that finds Apple Maps ok in my city and don’t have issues. I do keep Waze on the phone as a backup though because I’m sure one day I will experience what everyone talks about. :D
I agree, the Fediverse has grown a lot since I started using it in 2018. I don’t have a reason to have an account to log into those other sites now. People are nicer around these parts and there is room for the Fediverse to grow. It is like having a parallel internet without the corporate or advertising baloney.
I do this with older Kindles that I do not sign into. It works great and inexpensive.
