It’s always hilarious when someone pulls the “you let this guy live rent free in your head” card about the greatest current threat to American democracy. Yes, we should just pretend he doesn’t exist. It’s almost always followed by one or more arguments that show they lack even a surface level understanding of the details of the situation. This post manages to live up to that ‘standard’.

This is what happens when you have an uneducated populace. A lack of critical thinking skills leads to the adoption of nonsensical viewpoints based on emotion instead of reason. When those viewpoints are challenged, they’re similarly met with typically meaningless, emotion-driven responses (a la “he lives in your mind rent free”) as the adopters lack the capacity to respond with reason.

It was comically incompetent but almost successful. They had a practice run, the next time will be better (for them) if we let this continue. Gotta rip the bandage off at some point.

For example, I literally have COVID right now so I’m stuck at home. I’m running out of food (I got sick on the day I do my weekly shopping) plus I don’t want to cook or drive because I feel like twenty pounds of shit in a ten pound sack. My wife has work, school, and two stupid dogs to care for, so she’s already stretched, plus I don’t want her to push herself harder in case SHE gets sick too. I usually get our own food but I’m happy to pay someone to deliver right now.

Goddamn I miss that. Restaurants and bodegas within walking distance of your apartment.

Because holding famous, rich important people accountable for their actions would jeopardize the system. It needs that lack of accountability to function in a way that only benefits the wealthy.

I changed that a little. I think capitalism is pretty shitty, but it could do better for many people if the United States government stopped letting rich people bend and often outright break the law.

I absolutely will not fuck any of them. I hope they all acquire a disease of the genitals that can only be cured with lye and sandpaper.

I do but I have a rare disease that medical science still isn’t sure how to treat, so I got a few science degrees so I can read studies and make suggestions to my doctors. I’m basically my own doctor now, I just need someone to write the prescriptions and tell me if I’m being an idiot.

It’s like a cheat code for winning over stupid people. Us social apes instinctually band together against things we feel threaten us. These douchebags just keep crying wolf, then bear, then cougar, then three headed rattlesnake, and the list goes on, and ride that fear to further their careers. A disappointingly large portion of the population never seems to notice how so many of these issues are entirely fictional.

Seriously, a hotel never charged me a cleaning fee while requiring that I clean the room before leaving.

I’m at five years for ours. We used the included ‘teaser’ toner cartridge for almost three years. After the first year, it warned us the toner was low. We laughed and turned the warning off and it just continued to provide toner for nearly another two years.

We now have an “extra large” toner cartridge. Like owning a parrot, my wife and I expect it’ll outlast both of us and our children or grandchildren will get stuck with it. We’re both 35.

I was feeling the same. I saw 90% and was immediately impressed at their optimism.

Why do you think they were worse before?

It seems like the Internet has allowed them to band together to reinforce and validate each other’s stupidity. I think they’re far bolder than before but I’m willing to change my mind.
