  • Yet they want a blanket ban, and once concentration camps are up and we’re officially beyond the pale…and anything not that same shade of pale finds itself in those camps…I don’t think people are gonna want to emigrate here or any of the five eyes.

Letting the bankers take the wheel in the 80s has cannibalized the health of all Western society and commodified whatever was left.

We were told to worship no one other than God/the source/the creator/the allfather/the universe/the truth/whatever you want to call it…but all I see is worship of another invisible diety, this invisible hand of the market - easily the most worshipped god in the modern day. Capitalism is incapable of bringing about salvation, unless you believe in accelerationism, and then everyone participating is gonna be found wanting.

Like, capitalism has failed to even create a society where it’s own people want to breed in. Something so easy for us and we would rather throw it all away, myself included. For comparison, Mozart had 11 children. 2 survived into adulthood.

  • When Musk cut off Ukraine, the Pentagon informed him that they were immediately purchasing a minor controlling stake in the, currently, private company. Service to Ukraine was restored the next day.

    That’s how “capitalism” works apparently.

I also assume that’s why NVidia did it’s sudden about face and fell right in line when the generals threatened to own them the next day.

It’s all just rich people getting reminded they’re only rich, or alive, because the government allows them to be.

  • Lump ALL insurance together, make it government run, or legislate it non-profit, with pay rates the same, and tiered the same as social workers.

We need to shame these companies that profiteer off of their neighbors. It’s state sanctioned looting of someone’s estate while they’re down. If they want to profit, let them offer profit packages in other countries, we dont need anymore ambulance chasing opportunists. Beaurocrats…shudders

  • Insurance

The one purpose built industry that not only improves exponentially with but can only function by being at scale. That.is.it’s.whole.reason.to.exist.

Every argument against M4A is a known lie consciously being said to our faces. It’s parasites squirming in where they don’t belong, to steal whatever value they can connive, instead of producing anything of value and actually contributing to society

Just like landlords, it’s inherited generational bloatware. Like herpes, I think…um, kinda?? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Landlords = herpes.

I’m rolling with it. I don’t need any clarification on that.

  • I can’t wait until crispr files get pirated and spread across the web. A few hundreds bucks in lab equipment to grow a culture, spin a centrifuge and bam! Remember, take your modified DNA milkshake with food.

But beyond crispr, 3d printing DNA, if not already possible, has got to be around the corner. The files might be huge, but it’s just another 3 shades and a toner, we know how to do that.

And regardless how sweet that’d be, Id still be pissed off if it hypothetically came with a forced subscription. Will I need to hack those to remove the telemetry as well? cuz let me tell ya, I’m getting really good at that. Lots of practice lately. Defense catches up, all im saying.

  • No one in the 90s could imagine the internet without AOL or Yahoo either, and yet…

Or the great Myspace collapse of 2008. Digg before that. Tumblr most recently.

Big sites go boom fairly often.

Now, watching Google go Boom, that’s gonna be like modules breaking loose of the ISS and rez-entering the atmosphere. Drawn out over months, as one wing goes, government breaks up another wing, class action lawsuits bankrupt another wing.

Alphabets circling the drain. And good. Fuck em. Fuck Apple, Fuck Meta, Fuck Amazon, Fuck Reddit.

Just a couple more years now and imma nominate Craig from Craigslist for all the years nobel prizes for officially winning the internet.

Specific niche forums, Craigslist and Wikipedia are the last bits of honestness and fun online. And ymmv with Craigslist people being honest.

  • It’s a very capitalist, or monopolistic, worldview.

To run a business corrillary; Exxon and BP were undisputed leaders in their fields going way back, whether or not they were number 1 isn’t even important, they were/are major players. Studies were conducted in the 70s that showed climate change was guaranteed (nevermind newsprint from the 1900’s talking about the same thing. 120 years ago this was foreseen) gave them 2 options.

    1. Use that knowledge and invest heavily into solar, wind and other energy generating tech, since they already know the energy sector as players in it, they have a huge advantage on every start up. They can control the conversation. If you’re business is going to be made obsolete and replaced, well, it makes the most sense for you to do that to yourself, right?

    2. Ooooooooor suppress the research, PR campaign public support, act innocent when scientists with scruples finally catch up, and extract as long as you can while you can.

Which did the ruling capitalist hegemon (cuz oil runs the world) choose?

Giving your kids all the tools so they can go create and contribute however they see fit is a fucking admiral goal. In fact, it’s the best you can do for your child. Taking away all challenge and hardship by passing along immeasurable wealth does not help a persons pro-social maturing. How could it, it’s isolationist by its own very nature. This is why the Scrooge trope exists.

The same logic needs to be extended to copyright law. 20 years then public domain. You had an idea that took off? Good for you! Now why should the inventor of pixie sticks not have to work ever again? If anything, they’ve just got the next 20 years of developing and innovating funded. They already have an advantage. Those who fail to use it, imo, shouldnt warrant pity. We shouldn’t reward laziness and laurels shouldn’t be a ride at societies amusement park.
