We all knew Trump was worse, which is why Mehdi Hasan and many others were pleading with Biden to please change course because he was destroying his re-election by his own hand. Biden overruled his advisors and the state department and pressed forward on an unpopular policy in hopes he could get republicans to vote for him and it failed. He undermined his own foreign policy and ruined his own career.

People ignore that Biden’s policy was simply indefensible. He fought his own party, he fought his advisors and the media and he STILL lost the election. There’s no longer a need to carry water for him.

I’m very familiar with their positions despite the poorly-managed edit wars on Wikipedia. They are undoubtedly hardline but so is Likud. Hamas has been calling for a two state solution since 2004 (which they called “a divorce” from the Jews) and even updated their charter in 2017 to reflect that new reality. If all you know about them is Wikipedia then I’m sorry for you.

Hamas has said since 2004 they are willing to accept a two state solution, and a long term peace, but not one where Israel continues to bomb them or try stealing more land. They’re hardliners but so is Likud.

Genocide is not just extinction but an attempt to destroy or erase a nation. Likud’s charter calls for the elimination of a Palestinian state and its leaders have talked openly about using the military to drive all Palestinians into Egypt and Jordan and eliminate the idea of a Palestine. That IS genocide.

Living next to the ANC was unacceptable to South Africans too. Same with IRA next to British people. But a peace deal was made.

No. They pulled out their illegal settlements but then blockaded the land and even blocked the importation of Covid vaccines (until international pressure made them relent). The government is even openly talking about putting new settlements back.

Israel has also committed aggression against most of its neighbors and tried to claim their lands as well.

We can do MUCH more than that. Currently Biden is giving $8 Billion a year to Israel and is Congress for an additional $14 Billion, and is vetoing UN Security Council resolutions that criticize Israel and quietly blocking their investigations into war crimes. Biden could add conditions to the aid (he already blocked shipments of rifles because they were going to arm settlers who were committing attacks on unarmed Palestinians), he could block the additional aid or heavy weapons shipments or he could abstain and let the UN Security Council actually order Israel to stop violating the Geneva Conventions.

Israel is arrogant enough to think they can fight multiple wars at the same time. Biden and others have made the best effort to warn them against it, but if Netanyahu wants to risk the entire country just to grab more land then what can we do to stop him?
