They could definitely redo this show with a modern angle focusing on the real villain causing pollution: capitalist interests. Too often the bad guys in captain planet were actual monsters trying to pollute because “blah blah we’re evil”.

They still talk about Hillary calling Trump’s supporters “deplorables”, but when Trump not only calls liberals/leftists “vermin” but implies that they will be in some way discriminated against, maybe even genocided, it barely makes the news.
I don’t think so, the state leans red in everything else. In this same election, every other statewide election (including secretary of state and attorney general) went to the republican candidate by a ratio of like 60-40. I think Beshear’s just popular.
As a Kentuckian, I’m very (pleasantly) surprised by this result. Sure, we’ve historically preferred a democratic governor, but I thought in the post Trump era that wouldn’t matter. I was sure that the only reason Beshear beat Bevin in 2019 was because of all the shit Bevin pulled with teacher’s pensions. Anyways, exciting stuff!
Some creators do get support from patreon, but most of those creators are on other platforms. I’m betting that this move pushes those creators out to focus on their other platforms, which will lead to a drastic drop in quality content.
Kentucky currently has a democratic governor, Andy Beshear, elected in 2019 after the previous governor Matt Bevin tried to screw over teachers, pissing off pretty much everyone. And he still almost won. Beshear has obviously been limited in what he can do in a very republican state, but he’s been holding off a lot of the more extreme legislature that the state government’s been trying to push. I expect Kentucky to get a lot worse after tomorrow, but that won’t stop me from voting.
Not when you could be also using that vpn to communicate with people without them knowing
Google Fiber was planned to install in my city, but their only way of delivering service to most neighborhoods was by digging into the roads to lay cables and then covering it up with rubber. Well, they did a terrible job with the roads, tons of damage and potholes, and then they “cancelled” Fiber, so it was all for nothing. You can’t even get Fiber in my city now, even though the uncancelled it.
Yeah my only interaction with reddit now is if I want to read honest discussion of some specific thing without worrying too much if it’s astroturfed, I can go to google and search like “wireless earbuds for sleeping reddit”. With this change I wouldn’t even have that option available, which I consider to be the last thing reddit’s good for.
Having recently read Rise & Fall, yeah. The party started out as a small nationalist club with socialist tendencies to attract the impoverished WW1 soldiers. But Hitler only cared about the nationalist part, and once they had any sort of public presence, Hitler squashed any attempts at doing anything socialist. For example at one point when they were a minority party, there was a vote to take land from the wealthy Junkers, which some members of the party wanted to vote for, because it wouls be popular with their voters. But Hitler refused, because he wanted the Junker’s support and money.
There’s always more people to peel off, but I think a lot of the centrist republicans have already switched. Anecdotally, my dad, a lifelong republican, chose not to vote in 2016, and voted for Biden in 2020. I don’t see a lot of Trump voters switching over after voting for him twice, but maybe some of the moderates who held their votes will decide to vote for democrats in the future
It would only help dems, which is why it’s unlikely. Best thing we can hope for is the republican party is pushed further right, which leads to the democrats absorbing even more center-right politicians, and then we have a few decades of milquetoast Democratic dominance until something big changes the dynamic.
Yeah IMO this is more than youtube drama, this is someone threatening Jack and his wife by showing her fans where he lives
Republicans hold a slim majority, so it would only take a few flips to elect Jeffries as speaker. Whether any republicans are upset enough to flip is anyone’s guess.
At least its not the other kind of CBT
I don’t doubt that putin’s interest is in creating disruption in the US, but I think the much louder call is coming from inside the house. American corporations and the wealthy benefit greatly from a congress that is too crisis-ridden to regulate them.
That’s a very generous reading to be fair
This is republican politics in general
Let her go, ref
