For sure. Though the context is what bugged me. Inferring it’s decentralized felt off.
Hmm

I would not add Threads to this article. Especially when you start the thing off by claiming the whole issue to begin with is big tech monopolizing. Other then that, alright.
Fuck. You’re right.
You’re right.
This reminds me… we need an “I’m sorry Garfield” community on Lemmy.
Spez needs to get the old Regina George vs. a bus treatment
My company is attempting to try this bullshit and I’m curious what the HR will say to me when I tell them that’s discriminatory.
Edit: btw I’m not customer facing or a laborer unlike the handful of unimaginative comments assume the article’s talking about. This is an issue in all fields that can be remote. Sadly, an issue enough now that there’s at least one article about it. Wfh shouldn’t be something only egos get. If your job can be done from home, it should be.
I hope they have the infrastructure for it unlike the US and its combined 10 chargers for the entire nation of EV drivers. /s … Kind of.
Meta is blocking Nazis… oh wait, I get it. This is a PR stunt to show the gullibles in the fediverse how much M(ark)eta has “changed.” Sure, there might be a historical shift of right wing populism everywhere because of Meta’s content regulatory practices but they’ve changed guys. C’mon.
It would put victims of domestic violence and other similar situations in a lot of danger. It would also paint a red x on the queer community, feminist activists, police reformists, housing rights activists, people opposed to war and genocide, so on and so forth. Meanwhile, Chase and his white supremacist buddies would continue to post their bile behind their real identities, just as they always have, and Mark and Elon would still sleep like babies.
Don’t go to Notability. They went full asshole at the top of this last semester. Changed the entire interface as people were starting their first week of class. They nuked features that made note taking for class nice. They clearly don’t respect their users and will most likely do the same thing again.
An extra hot take from a six day old account. I’m guessing this is the trash Meta’s going to bring to the fediverse.
That’s an interesting point. On one hand Israel is the way it is because right wing nationalism has been normalized through open and free speech in the US. But Israel is also where it is because of the conflation of the meaning of antisemitism shutting down anyone challenging it. Though, I am seeing that conflation being properly challenged more so now than ever before but it’s obviously not fast enough. It’s probably time to implement looking more at collective actions more than words within governmental policy writing. As in mass killings = bad. I wish humans didn’t suck.
But where’s the fun in that?
Don’t you mean intriguing?
I think leaks should come with stiff penalty. Like the CTO goes to jail, pays each person involved for a lifetime worth of damage, and then has their head and arms locked in an old timey wooden head and hands stock lock at the center of town square where the public gets to throw rotten food at their face. No but seriously, they need to pay people affected a lot of money for potentially fucking their credit up because that’s where this kind of data goes.
I’m just replying to tell you I hear you. We definitely don’t want to lose the weight that word carries. I’m glad the term is being accurately used in this case.
Yea… Meta took the same “free peaches” approach and the entire fucking globe is now dealing with various versions of white nationalism. So like, can we actually give censorship of hate a fucking try for once? I’m willing to go down that road.
Lmfao doing good?! Facebook spread right wing nationalism/fascism internationally and on purpose. FOH with your bad faith commentary.*
