Your option is having a financial institution that provides tap to pay on their own app. Otherwise you will have to start carrying cards again.

I have seen people recommending the usage of a smart watch such as Garmin which has their own Pay application. You can check their compatibility list here. I didn’t have any luck because they support like 5 cards in Canada.

Seriously, there’s not knowing about radiation and not thinking something is dangerous because it didn’t ignite with a flame, and then there’s thinking something salvaged from a hospital might contain gunpowder. These are two completely different levels of ignorance or perceived lack of privilege.

The intention wasn’t to feel morally superior. I am from Brazil and I know these people didn’t know better. They scavenged for scraps to live, most likely didn’t go to high school. Just wish people were more empathetic, but I imagine that most of the user base here is quite privileged and don’t know how poor and uninformed people can be in 3rd world countries.

It is pretty depressing to find this kind of reply here. If the person was ignorant enough to think that was gunpowder that obviously means they lack knowledge. Some of these people didn’t even know what makes something radioactive. Do you really think the guy would give the powder for his 6yo daughter to play if he knew better?

It’s awful that so many banks used to have this and just decided to stop having it in favor of the monopoly.

The issues with this idea is that it affects the fit of the case you are using and I usually have more than one card I need to carry around since our main card isn’t accepted at some places (amex)

If people would consider that a lot of people are easily charmed by big corporations because they offer convenience/easy to use service mostly because they barely have time for themselves I think the world would be a better place.

You have a point but there’s a huge chunk of people that aren’t well informed enough (we already all know of the people that simply don’t care, I’m not talking about those) and still use it.

I have to live on the same planet on people that do a lot of things that I don’t agree. That’s called living in a society.

Why do we need to be so pedantic about people use or don’t use?

Why did someone see that I joined Signal? People who already know your number and already have you in their contacts see that they can contact you on Signal. Nothing is sent to them by your Signal app or the Signal service. They just see a number they know is registered. If someone knows how to send you an insecure SMS, we want them to see that they can send you a Signal message instead.

Why did I see that my contact joined Signal? You are notified when someone that is stored in your contact list is a new Signal user. If you can send an insecure SMS to a contact, we want you to know you can send a Signal message instead.
