7·5 months agoI’m pretty new as well. Try looking at mounting your hard drives with /etc/fstab. You should try to mount them via UUID and put them in the /mnt folder. I’m using mint cinnamon your mileage might vary. https://wiki.debian.org/fstab
As for the integrated graphics, you might be able to disable them in BIOS.
As for the video drivers I had a lot of trouble as well and ended up having to uninstall a lot of drivers manually to get the right version to stick.
Also depending on where they live making them work through lunch / breaks is illegal without extra pay. Look up your local labor laws.

Just setup Mint last night and have been troubleshooting how to get everything to work. So far I’m liking it. Last thing I setup was Lutris for gaming so that’s nice.
3·2 years agoLearn your local / state / federal employment laws. Employers will try to fuck you over due to your ignorance. If they try to pull something illegal on you, figure out who to report it to. I had one of my first employers “Adjust” my clock in and out times by a few minutes sometimes and really what they were doing is short changing me of overtime pay.
Most of the people I’ve worked with in the games industry I’ve seen get promised promotions and never gotten them or gotten them years after they should. Most promotions and significant pay raises come from switching jobs. 2-3 years at a job is plenty of time.
It’s called the Cobra Effect. India put a bounty on cobras and people started breeding them making the problem worse.
