I don’t think preemptive fascism is the solution. The world many people seem to be advocating for here doesn’t honestly seem that much different from one led by nazies. They just replace jews and gays with other groups of people they don’t like.
Good for them. I’m all for allowing people make their own choices about what kind of content they want to see instead of a corporation/government deciding for them.
I can’t think of a single thing we’ve succesfully gotten rid of by banning it. I however can think of several examples where it has had an opposite effect.

My last car was like that and then every time I borrowed my dad’s mercedes I’d constantly do stupid unecessary overtakes just because I could. It’s a moral hazard - I don’t think a faster accelerating car is safer because people drive those differently.

If I break my leg while mountainbiking it seems a bit unreasonable to claim that it wasn’t an accident because mountainbiking is an extreme sport and this could’ve been avoided if I was knitting instead.

Holmes had no product. Musk on the other hand singlehandedly popularized electric cars, reusable space rockets and satellite internet. Hate him all you want, but that is not a fair comparison. Musk’s issue is that he over promises and under delivers. He still does deliver but he fails to meet people’s expectations that he himself set.

People are against nazies but meanwhile advocate we treat other groups they dont like the way nazies would treat jews. Be that millionaires/billionaires, capitalists, republicans or whatever. “Eat the rich”
