That’s basically what happened before money was invented. Imagine being a shoe maker and wanting to get some food, can you convince the sellers to take new shoes for the food/groceries EVERY DAY?

XpeeN@sopuli.xyzOPto Open Source@lemmy.ml•URLCheck like program for PC (windows =\ )?English2·6 months agoHi, better late than never, right?
I wanted to be able to inspect the URL paths and parameters, before actually engaging with the website itself, and be able to interact with these fields in a convenient way, just like with URLCheck on android. Also, if possible, to check the URL, to see if it redirects anywhere.
On PC, while it’s not what I wanted to achieve, I settled on using Redirect Link extension, so at least after I spot a link that I want to redirect, I can clean it as I want and redirect it automatically. For example: these annoying AliExpress GCP links to normal item page with these regexps:
https://www.aliexpress.com/gcp/.+/?.*=&%3FproductIds=%5Cd+.*
->https://www.aliexpress.com/item/%q[productIds].html
Good human ;)
It’d be really helpful if these kind of posts would have such description at the title.
That’s has to do with the backend server that’ve been chosen at the preference page. Servers becomes unavailable all the time, and the frontend don’t change a server when it happens. Just choose a few servers that works well and you trust, and switch back and forth when needed.
F it, let’s make some popcorn!
Yeah ik, just pointing that out for the people that just rules out inhalation of weed because of combustion.
It’s because of combustion tho, right? using a dry herb vaporizer will prevent that then
XpeeN@sopuli.xyzto World News@lemmy.world•France bans ministers from WhatsApp, Signal; demands French alternativesEnglish11·2 years agoI get it, but I just don’t get why wouldn’t they just follow other govs’ steps and just set up a matrix server instead. It’s already available and proven.
Mull for android

XpeeN@sopuli.xyzto World News@lemmy.world•Gaza hospital bombed: Health Ministry says death toll in Gaza City hospital blast caused by Israel strike rises to at least 500English1·2 years agoIn my inexpert eyes, I don’t think group troops will help much because all the info about targets IDF has will become outdated as Hamas will move everything they can. And even if they wouldn’t, letting troops fighting at a foreign place, that the enemy has control at and can prepare amushes and traps at will risk more lives than letting civilians the chance to reposition and live (I don’t take into account the building that gets destroyed, its sad but not worth sacrificing lives for IMO, and that can be fixed with money), and from past lessons (more resources online obviously) I wouldn’t be suprised if Hamas will just use civilians as cover. Ground troops enterance won’t mean no civilian casuallties, Hamas makes sure of it, that’s part of how they get sempathy and support (such a disgusting act, It’s not even about what they’re fighting for at this point. Who acts like that??). And of course that’ll open the option Hamas waiting for the most, kidnapping soldiers.
Nah I mean it literally just showed me a picture by default because OP put it as a ![] () format
XpeeN@sopuli.xyzto World News@lemmy.world•Gaza hospital bombed: Health Ministry says death toll in Gaza City hospital blast caused by Israel strike rises to at least 500English58·2 years agoOK so taking the fact that Hamas hides themselves and their equipment at places that will force killing civilians to clear targets out, what would you do instead? How would you do it so their attacks would stop, beside alerting civilians and then remove intelled targets (both top org people and equipment)?
Yeah but the real question is, why the hell did you choose to look at the URL instead of the image itself?
I wanted to say the same but then remembered I’m using piped for a while now lol
For forums: Yeah spaces are pretty great (have a look at Mozilla for example) and it can be an alternative IME.
For gaming which even if unasked about, is the majority of the users: When we can have push to talk option (client side, which can be done relatively easy) and proper 30+ FPS Screen share for gaming features, I think it’ll be much easier to convince people to try it. Everything else IMO is QOL features that I don’t mind about. We also tried to use mumble, but the lack of Screen share moved us straight back to discord eventually…
