Not only that, I am reading angry commenter’s comments from an mbin instance. 🤷♂️

But modern Linux is easier to use than modern windows, so that last point doesn’t really work.
Modern Linux runs just about any windows app, including most games. It also supports web browsers which can access Teams, etc.
It seems like maybe the reason is more inertial than based on factors a well run business should consider.
My friend in fediversing - you are the one who made a comment with a claim people have asked you to expand on or back up and you have utterly failed at that repeatedly.
You could have just never commented in the first place and you wouldn’t be whining right now.
I think the people who grew up a bit later may feel this more keenly than some of us olds who used to have to use the yellow pages.
If you are quoting a word or short phrase you use this form to make it quicker and easier for the listener to understand.
If you quote a long section, saying “quote, <long quote>, unquote.” is common and accepted.
Or … maybe the datacenter shouldn’t use so much power to produce something of extremely questionable worth to our species. 🤷♂️
Like watching people argue fanfic canon in here. 😅
You are saying their rulings go against written law in preference to their party affiliation? If so, I’d be interested in understanding how.
How do you mean? The people challenging Trump being on the ballots are Republicans with standing in those jurisdictions.
I am not offering my opinion on these cases, but I think it’s important to make sure we understand who the plaintiffs are.
lol at the idea of 2019, or really anything post 2016 being a good year to go back to.
You are here, you are doing something. If they start with the bullshit we defederate them. (Or build new tech to keep corp influence in check, whatever we want.)
Point is: at some point me getting updates from Aunt Ethel matters a lot less to me than controlling my privacy and living my life without being advertised to every second.
The mistake is thinking everyone everywhere must be connected.
If 51% of people want to be on Facebook, or are so complacent and happy with their situation that they don’t feel like the corporate interests are screwing them then they are allowed to be there and be part of the majority.
I don’t want to be there and I won’t be, regardless. So at least 1 person will be there waiting on the Fediverse that we want where things are more distributed. I have a feeling that I am not alone and that the number of people like me out there is sufficient 5o guarantee that Facebook or any other corporate entity will not control the Fediverse.
… and yet, here you are posting this on the fediverse.
be the change, friend. fair travels.
This is dated today and references the previous one. I have no idea if its impact will be any wider, but your comment is inaccurate.
Too few people realize this is actually the source of all the world’s current problems. We never, ever should have let the normies on here.
we do, they’re called elections.
a third of the country wants this stuff.
not enough everyday people turn out to vote to stop this.
Who?
The problem is sort of chicken and egg: if there were an obvious democratic alternative the party could agree on, Biden would be out. There is no such person, so we get stuck with what we have right now.
Hard to fault the party for not wanting to bruise their most likely candidate in a tough primary, either.
This sucks, but it’s not the Democrats’ fault: it’s our first past the post voting system.
<let them fight>
